Without our loans, they wouldn't be anywhere near the top 7 in League Two in the first place. Still, it will be funny seeing them find out that not every club is a charity when they are scrambling for replacements in January.

The loans have to be mutually beneficial, Yates has shown he's a step above league one so needs to try his hand in the above league. I know they say hed have got that next season but if he goes scunny and progresses then he'll be more suitable for the champ next season.

Forest didn't recall him to piss of county, they did it because it was best for us and Yates.

As Yates has progressed beyond League Two level, I wonder if it would be beneficial to loan County someone like Edser to build his experience up as well, and to replace Yates?

Wonder how much the County bid was.

There's a bloke on there called United pie, with a half and half badge. What a ****.

Lol Poor little Mugpies seem extremely arse hurt over Yates, there tears taste so sweet.
He's out grown them, time to move on to next challenge.
I was ok with Grant & Yates staying at Notts co, but after all there lip flapping over Yates
f***'em he's our player we can do what we like, I hope we f*** them over with Grant aswell.

If County believe he's one of their best players then they should at least be a litte bit thankful they've had access to that quality on the cheap for six months.

We're not doing this to spite County, the decision has been made by both Forest and Yates that football at a higher level is needed to cement/speed up his development.

If Yates wants to play for Forest next season, then he's got a better chance if he proves himself at League One.

I think County will still be riding their wave and do OK this year though.

Notts fans are deluded. This is nothing personal against Notts; Yates may or may not make it, but moving him to another club make s sense in his development.
Personally, I feel that Grant may not make it at our level, but I would try to give him the opportunity to play in div 1. Sod Notts.

Relationships such as the one between Forest and Notts County can never be easy. There's bound to be an inferiority complex on one side, and anger on ingratitude on the other.

The fact that it's a difficult relationship does not mean that it's not a beneficial one for both sides. At some point, both realize that and maintain the relationship, while continuing to moan about it.

Face it, it's no different than being married to them.

I've met Alan Hardy and putting the Notts thing to one side he's a thoroughly decent chap who's doing a lot of good community work for Nottinghamshire. However, he’s an absolute burk with his bitter comments towards us on Twitter which only serve to hurt the club he claims to love.

We, as Yates’ employer, have decide that his development would be best served by him playing at a higher level. It may well also be the case that Yates, and his family, wanted exactly the same. Brazil is probably thinking - we know he can do it at League 2 but we need to test him at League 1 so he's ready for the step up to the Championship next year. I’m sure if Hardy had a young player doing the business at Basford United and an opportunity to play at Alfreton arose, he’d do exactly the same.

To aggravate the club who are helping him out is absolute madness. Notts are a cash strapped club who have the opportunity to loan some of the best young talent around on a regular basis from us and he’s in danger of throwing all of that away with his ridiculously childish behaviour.

Makes no sense at all.

i would to be far, edser, anel there on the fringes and wont really play this season. personally think yates should have stayed at county the pressure and experience of a promotion push in familiar surroundings where he is playing week in week out would have been tremendous for his development

Can't believe the way they're acting, they're lucky we allowed them their two best players for 6 months, both are clearly above League 2 standard. Anyone know where they would be in the table without Grant and Yates?

As for those on Twitter saying they hope that Big Sam does Nolan a favour and recalls Dowell, that's fine we'll have to replace him with another attack minded midfielder who scores goals... wonder who that could be?

This will probably have been done on Gary Brazil's say so. I trust Brazil's judgement when it comes to developing young players more than I do Notts County fans, or Alan Hardy, on Twitter.

grant did save them from relegation last year, gotta assume without both of them this season they would be there or there abouts.

Reading between the lines it seems to me like Yates wanted the move up to league one based on Hardy mentioning Yates being at forest since he was 9 and watching Worral vs Arsenal.

My guess is he is good friends with Worral, knows he is of a similar level or maybe even better from years of playing alongside him and having seem Joe play well against a top level club feels like he wants to play higher than league 2 asap.

If he can perform to the same high standard at league one level he accelerates his development by a season and is ready for the bench in the Championship next season with a view to establishing a 1st team spot when he gets his chance.

Must be difficult trying to argue to keep the player whilst saying he's of high quality. You sort of argue against yourself.

They are thinking of themselves and we are thinking of ourselves and the player.

Have also spoken to a County fan who says he's been running the games for them this season and he's head and shoulders above the rest of the team. Be interesting to see how they fare for the rest of the season.

If Everton recalled Dowell wouldwe all slag off the lad's employers for exercising their right?

No

We'd be gutted, express our disappointment and expect our manager to find someone to replace him.

I hope someone buys Grant now, he's 23 and I don't think he'll make it here.
