I'm surprised he never mentioned that he once played for Manchester United's youth team.

Must have slipped his mind.

Since when was it official that Robbie Savage was a 'legendary' footballer? Over the past couple of years that seems to be the misleading quote, as well as people mistakingly thinking he's an interesting pundit :/ confusing.

He's a legend in his own mind.

He did hold the record for the most number of yellow cards. 'Legendary dirty cheating wind up merchant' would be more accurate than 'footballer'.

People use the word legend far too much in football.

Played for us for a season? WHAT A LEDGE.
Scored a goal in successive games? WHAT A LEDGE.
Signed for us? WHAT A LEDGE.

Robbie Savage had the footballing ability of a paving slab.

Harsh, I've seen some good stuff played on/with a paving slab.

Yeah, the word legend is thrown around far too easily today. Although I bet there's a few posts on here where I've called a certain Mr Cohen a legend..

Legends usually aren't true, so the idea of Robbie Savage being a footballer probably does qualify as a legend.
