To Liverpool for £4m+? Isn't he a bit old to be commanding that kind of fee?

Also, its a bit sad how the vultures are circling around Southampton, raping them of their best players and reducing them back down to relegation strugglers.

Target man who does more than just win headers.

I don't think it's a bad capture re is age - he'll play there a couple years, probably as a bench option.

Clearly they don't need to spend big on a striker, would expect their big captures to be in defence.

From League Two to the Champions League and the World Cup. It's pretty amazing really, and he's a nice bloke to top it off

Must be turning into a pretty depressing time to be a Soton fan. After such a promising season their reward to for their manager and one of their best players picked off by big clubs in the same week.

They must be wondering who else will go by the end of the summer.

It is the Premier League. That is how it is run. We aspire to finish eighth and have our best players and manager cherry-picked before eventually getting relegated again. That is the dream. Get on board.

How can you even question it? The Premier League is one of our greatest exports. Te whole world watches it. Attendances are up. It is an amazing thing. Even David Cameron supports Aston Villa. It is an amazing thing.

They are in talks to sell Shaw to Man U, and Liverpool are after Llana too.

Its a shame, but it looks like they will be picked apart.

Unless Lambert going means Lallana is staying. I think you'd choose to keep the younger player if you could.

Llama will go.

I don't think it's the end of the world for Southampton. They'll receive a lot of money for Shaw, Rodriguez, Lallana, Lambert and Pochettino if all go - somewhere near £60m.

They are well run in terms of finances, so can put that money straight back into their first team and their excellent youth academy.

All they have to do next season is finish 17th and the money continues to roll in. There's a lot of good, quality, young players that you can buy for that money.

Rodriguez to Spurs is mooted too

Its got to be horrible for Southampton fans, seeing so many people leave the club.

Reminds of Paul Harts time here, where we kept seeing all of our important players leave.

This is a really strange move for all involved. Firstly, why do Liverpool want him? They have Suarez, Sturridge and Aspas, and to be fair, no other striker will start ahead of Suarez or Sturridge. Secondly, Southampton, why would they sell him for £4million? Surely they could get more than that for him? They don't need to sell, nor do they need the money from what I gather.
The strangest one is him though, at Southampton he's made the World Cup squad from the games he's played and he's been the main man at Southampton and yet now he'll just be sat on the bench at Liverpool waving goodbye to his first team action.

Spend less on players like Lambert & more on some grit for that slippery pitch! :D

It must make their second string getting knocked out of the FA Cup so much more frustrating, it was always obvious the bigger clubs would come circling, if you've got the chance of success do everything you can to try and get it.

Lambert will be a good signing for Liverpool, they don't need to add to their first XI there but they desperately need depth, adding Lambert and getting Borini back is great for them.

He's a massive Liverpool fan, he'd probably leave even if he was only going to play once. He's 32, never going to get another chance to play for a bigger club than Southampton. Well, not one that'll be any more likely to finish in the top 6.

That's probably why they want him.

I think he'd suit their style as well, he gets pegged as an Andy Carroll-esque target man but he's more of a 'Sheringham' type for me.

No wonder my post count..
Imagine if all premier league clubs had an academy like Southamptons. A man can dream...

Ahh I didn't realise he was a Liverpool fan, makes more sense now. And yes Raymondo, unfortunately so, although I'd actually like to see how much they put him on.
