Thanks for that. Palace didn't do much did they? Hoping injuries remain unkind to them and they get sucked in. Brentford too, though that'll depend on how good their incomings are.

Fulham signed Broja and let a couple go - they could still get sucked in to things.

Seeing Brereton to Sheff U irks me. 2 goals in 2 games already and he's looked good there too, up to the Prem on the showings so far, just lacking fitness to make it much beyond 60-70min.

We could have really done with a versatile, well-rounded forward like that here at the moment. Annoying that we let him go to spunk 13m on Carvalho, just hope it doesn't come back to bite us in the arse now.

Yeah I did tho k he would be worth a shot on loan, but I guess for him he knows he’ll get games at sheff united. At Forest he’d be behind wood and Awoniyi as a striker. I know he can play wider as well but he probably wanted games in the premier league to try and get a permanent move to this level in the summer.

I still think we got good money for him back then for what he was, for the position we were in and the market at the time. Obviously as ever we squander money on other shit, that is a given 🤣

I 'got pelters' for suggesting we bring him back.

(Congo will appreciate that one hopefully!)

Thing is though, he's only 60-min fit and he knows it, so I think he'd have got enough game time to keep him happy here playing backup to the main striking role, and also playing out wide (lord knows I'd have him in front of CHO).

Que sera.

Yeah I agree, he’s quite a mobile striker so did think he’d be a decent option before sheff united got him. You know he’ll score against us.

I found it a depressing Window.
I know it is wrong to judge any player too soon, but I have a feeling that Reyna will be a flop (and a shit-stirring flop at that), Ribeiro is one for the future so is unlikely to figure until we are either safe or relegated, Sels has so much weight on his shoulders and having watched his highlights reel I am thinking he might not be any better than Turner.
As for departures, we have lost a better player in Mangala than any we have brought in.
Horvath wasn't in our "25", and will raise very little cash.
The rest are loans out - probably no loan fee upfront, so all we do is lose them from the payroll for a few months.
The fact so many are loans tells you all you need to kow about our recruitment teams' recent performances.

No problem. Just a copy and paste job.
If anyone spots anyone missing shout up and I'll add them. Possibly Origi and Aurier for us in the coming days.

I don't think we've done too bad in comparison. 1 needed, 1 decent, 1 punt, quite a few out.
Everton's business was ..... well.....uninspiring to say the least.

At least we avoided signing Akpom,Captain!
I wasn’t expecting much in January given our present circumstances-the success or
failure of the window probably depends if Sels is up to it or not.
Reyna might be a wild card and I agree that Ribeiro is unlikely to make a significant difference.

Thank f*** we avoided Akpom.
I suppose we will have to wait until summer to see if we can finally get that one, and the Batshuyi one over the line :panthers:

Didn't realise James Clarridge had gone to Watford on a permanent, so stuck him on ours.
Still waiting on Serge to be confirmed I think.

It's not a transfer window until Alf complains about Carvalho.

Alf, seriously? Brereton wanted out. He wasn't patient. He wanted to play and play regularly. We got good money for him at the time.

Of all the pieces of business you use to criticise today, it's that one?

Only coz Karanka wasn't playing him.

As I said at the time, he should have been given more of a chance. His belief in himself has proven to be correct.

I mean, we just went back in for Akpom for 16m...so why couldn't we have gone for Brereton instead? If we're looking to bring old players back here, then let's at least look to bring back well liked ones.

I think Karanka got both Brereton and Worrall horribly wrong. Both offered more than the options around them, except for Grabs in Brereton's case.

I never really got the love in for Karanka. Thought he was average at best.
