Are you going to be arranging the pre-game festivities GBG?

I'm still trying to find a decent Greek ale. Mythos, Fix Hellas, Fix Dark and Αλφα have all proven to be disappointing variations of a lager-y type.

I’ll give it a try, but do you brew anything other than lager on that Island? :)

There are several micro-breweries that produce just about any kind of beer you can imagine (https://www.beer-pedia.com/index.php), but it's true that most of the cheep commercial beers are lagers.

Our beer culture is severely limited. We like beer, but we drink it mostly as refreshment, and very rarely in large quantities. Thus, we do not normally make a fuss over what beer we are served. You will often hear people ordering 'a beer' in a café, without specifying which kind of beer or even which brand.

Ouzo, tsipouro, wine.

We drink beer when hot mainly.

Other than that there are small breweries with non lager beers but you usually find them in smaller quantities and in special beer joints.
There are beers like Cretan kings, volkan, voreia etc and two of my best breweries are sknipa (Greek for dead drunk) and septem.

However, from the mainstream ones I prefer Kaiser and Fisher.

We have a slightly different drinking culture, we shove about 20 pints of strong lager down our necks & throw plastic chairs everywhere while singing “rule Britannia”

It’s why we’re so popular in continental Europe
