Premiership? You're having a laugh.

Yesterdays result signalled the first milestone of the season for me.

We have now played all three teams that were in the Premiership last season.

Reading, Derby, Birmingham.

Not one of them has been able to beat us.

Is this a good thing? A sign of good things to come? Or should we be critical of our boys for not beating them?

After all, this time last year those three teams were heading for Anfield, Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge, whilst were being held by Lincoln in the first round of the FA Cup.

Just a thought, but a worthy marker of how far we've come, in my opinion.

I was just considering exactly the same thing as I compared the feeling of euphoria at getting a point from Brum yesterday akin to taking a point from Reading on the opening game of the season.

Derby is always going to be a different kind of game but the fact remains that we got a result and a point from all three of the post Prem teams and this must give us a great boost of confidence.

We need to start taking points from the next run of games v. Bristol, Norwich, Doncaster and Barnsley to launch us out of the bottom zone.

we also outplayed everysingle one!!

We have outplayed every single one of those teams.. the only difference between us and them is that if their strikers had the chances that we had, they would be long gone in terms of scoreline.

I dont care what anyone says, we need new strikers in the window - one possibly being a target man (Jon Parkin anyone?)

I am not sure, as TBT said, Derby is always going to be a little bit of a different game, and Reading and Birmingham have been played at the City Ground.

The true test will be when we go and play at the Madejski and St. Andrews.

It is a very interesting statistic. We have also played very well against each of these sides (Derby could be argued a little)

My personal concern is that we can get points against these sides yet we can't against others like Burnley, Plymouth, Sheff Wed etc.

We need to play as if we are playing Brum week in week out which we seem to be doing now. Therefore, the points should be heading our way (fingers crossed)

Reading a different team now to when we played them, they have shaken off the problems from early season and are a force again. Derby are just a whole different game and Birmingham did indeed sound poor.

Having said that, from comments by McGugan, Anderson and Chambers it would seem that the Forest lads have shaken off their early nerves? injuries? whatever and believe they can compete in this league. More confident than ever we will rise up the table now.

Interesting that the team have appeared more bonded and confident ( Tyson for one) since Cole left. Either he was a negative force in the dressing room or more likely the lads received a boost by CC letting him go and putting his confidence in them?

To get points off the top teams is good (although Derby aren't really a top side) but to get points off the top sides and still be adrift in the drop zone is rubbish.

It proves we can compete,I consider getting three points against the likes of Doncaster,Barnsley and Norwich in the next few weeks as being much more significant like what Mouldy has being saying.

My main concern would be that we've done well in these games because some players (Tyson, Chambers) step it up a level for big games. What we need to see is them performing at that level week in week out, especially against the teams near us. It's no good just performing to catch the eye one game in five, these guys need to prove they deserve to be in this league.

I think it's more accurate to say that we played those three teams either side of one of the most horrendous runs in club football. For whatever reason, the team was devoid of confidence, direction and luck.

Thankfully, this rot was stopped with a timely slice of luck against Palace, and now we're looking like the team that we should be. If and when our whole squad is fit, the gaffer is going to have one or two problems.

I've got a soft spot for Reading, I had a season ticket at the Madejski for four years. For London Irish rugby, not the football though. But, anyway, they're a good side. Any team with Stephen Hunt and Doyle are going to be threatening. It has been said they are a different side to the one we opened the season against and by the time we play them again, I reckon they could be a different side again.

January will bring a lot of pressure on the management to cash in on Doyle, S. Hunt and Harper, all of who could have left in August and ravaged their side. While they will be cash rich, I don't see them attracting that quality of player to the Championship, whatever the money.

It proves if we did get to the Premiership we would be relegated easily. Maybe we get G'd up for our cup final games with these sides or maybe we just got them on their bad days, Brum are having a poor run, Reading didnt even start against us. Derby were just too concerned with french kissing sheep romantically by the Trent.

Given that we're second bottom of the Championship, I don't think that question needed to be answered.

It is great we have played very well vs the team's who have came down from the premier league. I now think its important we beat teams around us too.
I don't think we will go down.
