Italy in keeping with our affiliation with Macron and Garibaldi (which incidentally caused two random Italians to come up to me in an osteria and ask about our affiliation with Giuseppe after spotting me in a Forest shirt).

A low key warm up again Giana Erminio allowing travelling tricky's to stock up on all 4 billion types of Gorgonzola followed by a tournament at the Meazza where we pump Inter and get creditable draws against some other teams.

...not that I've spent much time thinking about it.

I’m hoping for an away friendly against crack German outfit VfB Stuttgart.

Unsurprisingly Karanka took Boro to Spain for both of his pre-season's there. Both times to Andalusia, once to Mijas and once to Marbella.

No carbs before Marbs chaps, get your Speedos ready.

No doubt our showpiece preseason friendly will be against glittering opposition such as Cardiff.

I cant remember the last time we played a friendly against anyone interesting.

They're cancelling the glamorous visit of Premiership giants West Bromwich Albion as we speak...

Lyon was the last one I remember and I really enjoyed that one.

Always fancied going to watch the preseason trip games. Might do it this year

Paul Smith's last game in goal for us if I remember it right, was sarcastically cheered off when he got substituted in the second half after one of the worst goalkeeping displays I can remember.

It's in Europe then.

Last years pre-season was rubbish, behind closed doors in Florida.

We're going to Seefeld in Austria on June 25 and then a couple of weeks later to Genk in Belgium for the second stage of the pre-season preparation and friendlies.

Perhaps our paths will cross.
