Not it at all. We played quite well yesterday - we moved the ball about ON THE FLOOR and created some good chances, but Birmingham defended well and one or two people wasted the few opportunities they allowed us (Halford's header being the worst). Can't really be blamed for the first goal, it was a brilliant hit. A lucky break in the box and we would have been on terms in the second half, but the Brum defenders were sharp and always closed us down. Butland made some good saves too. They won the game fairly, but they didn't outplay us - in fact we were probably best in terms of possession. But it was an away game and that sometimes happens.

Some people are just using any negative result as an excuse to rant, I think.

How do you mean ANY NEGATIVE RESULT we've just accumulated 5 points in 6 games.

Sure, but we had those rants after the Blackburn and Watford games. To say there weren't positives yesterday is to willfully ignore what actually happened.

At the end of the game there was a bloke wandering through the concourse repeating 'f*** off, f*** off, f*** off McLeish' like some kind of mantra. Yesterday's result wasn't McLeish's fault. He can't be blamed for Moussi not closing down quick enough or Collins' calamities. He picked a decent side and sent them out playing decent football. Watford, yes, that was McLeish's cock-up, he totally misjudged the selection, but yesterday was a few individual errors and a bit of bad luck. To me it looked no different to a Sean O'Driscoll performance and that period was frustating but certainly not devoid of positives.

I'd agree with most of that. The result pointed out what's been known most of this season, we just aren't savvy enough defensively.

Too much backing off and letting opponents run at them, not enough pressing an closing down.

Aye. Apart from Mcleish's decision to start Moussi instead of Raddy (which I could see the logic behind tbh) from what I heard on the radio and what mates have told me it sounded as if we were the better team.

I reckon another handful of games won't make much difference to where we finish in the league, so Mcleish deserves those to try and get us firing. The only concern I have is that we only seem to have played decent against poor teams under Mcleish, but the next run of 4-5 games are all very winnable so I'm happy to give him a chance to win them. It's not like the McClaren scenario where we don't have enough points to buffer a relegation fight, so I can live with giving Mcleish more time than Schteve.

Whether he decides to stay and use that time himself is obviously another matter.

Not sure what you are saying about Moose/Raddi. You seem to say the selection is one to be criticised, then say you can see the logic behind it????? Raddi is neat and full of energy and often can help our passing game. However, he can't tackle and rarely is influential for a whole game. I thought we played well in midfield but made a few mistakes at the back. The main thing for me is that we don't seem to have a game plan to get our strikers into scoring positions.

Positives? Well, it was a decent pub we found before the game and we didn't have Alan Merryweather on the bus for the way back. (Just joking, Al).
