Recall a fixture from either Euro 96 or World Cup 98. You'll score points as follows:
3 for every win by the two teams over both tournaments (if involved in both)
1 for every draw
1 for every goal scored
(Result of knockout games determined after 90 or 120 minutes - penalties irrelevant)
Also if you can correctly recall the score of the fixture you pick, I'll knock those goals from that game off the total points you score.

Good luck. I'll set a deadline of 6pm so if your partner doesn't get online before then maybe go it alone without his help.

Yes, if you know a game they played in (cos incorrect answer is 100 points). Though knowing the scoreline of the game in question would also deduct the goals scored in that game from your total at least.

Caveman Ninja and Bill Foster make it through to the final with their answer of Scotland 1 Switzerland 0 from Euro 96. Scotland score 4 points from Euro 96 (a win, a draw and only one goal which is deducted for providing the correct score vs Switzerland) and 3 points from World Cup 98 (two goals and a draw). Switzerland score 2 points from Euro 96 (the goal and draw vs England) and nothing from World Cup 98 as they weren't there! So that's 9 points in total.

Donny and Derbyshirered picked out probably a more obscure game, also from Euro 96 - Bulgaria 1 Romania 0. And they only scored one more point from Euro 96 - 6 from Bulgaria with a win, a draw and two goals (not counting the one vs Romania), and just 1 from Romania for a goal in their last game vs Spain. But from World Cup 98 Bulgaria score 2 for a goal and a draw, and Romania score 11 for two wins, a draw, and four goals in the group even though they went out without scoring in the last 16. So that's a total of 20.

Ok, so here is the final round question for Caveman Ninja and Bill Foster - as we're not sticking to the exact rules I'll ask for 4 answers so that if they're not online together they can just give two each - but they should be able to confer I should think:

Round 4
Name 4 National Teams that Pele played against (the Brazilian with the long real name!).
Obviously you're looking for a pointless answer, and you score points for goals scored by Pele himself over all games he played against against the teams named (and if he didn't play vs them you score 100 points as normal).

There are some pointless answers so it's possible to win. I'll donate the prize to charity though.
