Those are just the ones signed, not even the crud we already had!

The state of this lineup, and bare in mind Matty Cash was about 17 at that point as well!

f*** me, I still reckon I might have gotten in to that side, and my knees are dead!

Scored a banger against Burton tho. ALSO how can I forget about Periera! He was ridiculously good at times.
Aye, for about twenty minutes, until he went batshit insane and got himself sent off.

Lovely player, but absolutely mental.

Considering the money and quality of teams in the French league and cup. Impressive.
Now this is an interesting one 'cos the French Cup, more than any other I know of, throws up some bizarre occurrences. Far more teams from lower divisions reach their semi finals and finals than elsewhere.

Even this year, three out of the eight quarter finalists were from D2. None of the top six reached the semi-finals, only two reached the quarters.

Last year a team from the fourth division reached the semi-finals, two got to the quarters, and half the teams in the quarters were from outside the top flight.

The previous season saw similar with two fourth level teams reaching the quarters and one playing the semi finals. In 2018 a team from the third level reached the final. Frequently their quarter finals see half the sides from outside the top flight.

What makes the Coupe de France so different to our FA Cup?

Colin Cooper's outside and wants a word!

Seriously though, that squad is surely as bad as it ever got. I reckon the Kinnear/Megson teams were better than that (and that really is saying something).

France used to have two Cup competitions; the Coupe de France, and the Coupe de La Ligue.

But they slimmed this down to just the Coupe de France, and many of the bigger clubs don’t seem to take the Cup seriously, for some reason (mostly financial as the rewards for winning it were peanuts).

Who was Lica? Don't remember him at all. Did he go by another name on his shirt? Or was he at a level of crap that we just never got to see him play? We've had quite a few of those of the years, it's a long but not so distinguished list.

He was signed as Burke's replacement last minute when we sold him. He hardly played and actually had decent pedigree when we signed him. He played for Portugal not long before we signed him I think.

No not ringing any bells that one. He must have played that little and been that bad that I didn't even have chance to take a dislike to him.

He played very occasionally for us under Montanier - I think the only thing he did of note was registering an assist for Bendtner against Fulham at home in a 1-1 draw with a deft header.
