Pearce will be given "everything" he needs.

You say 'stock phrase hurr yeah right' but it's not his fault billy didn't strengthen and then blamed injuries when it all went tits up.

Apart from signing his own players of course. Billy made him do that too.

Hopefully this means in terms of bringing in a strong backroom staff and new ethos at the club.

Depends what players he is advised and recommended

We really don't need that many new players anyway.

SP started as an electrician, non-league football with Wealdstone, then Coventry, then us. He knows the game inside out and I can't see him making "stellar" signings just to please the press/media/fans. He was never a "champagne" footballer and knows the value of money.

The only concern from the squad we have, to the squad we need, is a centre-forward that will get us goals to win games. Assuming everyone can keep fit that is!

To be fair, if we see a similar level of transfer activity as fawaz's previous two years, then it won't be disappointing

getting shut of the mines in the training pitch would be a good first step

I am sure before any ink was put on paper Pearce and Fawaz would have agreed what Fawaz was prepared to fund and what Pearce could do with that funding.
In that sense Fawaz will give Pearce "everything he needs" but it is confined totally to what Pearce and Fawaz agreed "was needed" in the contract. I somehow doubt Fawaz would have agreed to give Pearce £100m so the "everything" can actually mean "not a lot" in reality?

The stock phrase from Fawaz when appointing a new manager comes out again. Surely by making this claim (yet again) we are setting ourselves up for (yet another) transfer window of disappointment?

I hear that this time he really is serious about promotion...

Would you have rather heard: "The money's all gone, the previous manager spent it all", and have Fawaz become over-catious like ND did after the David Pl*tt debacle and never properly back another manager ever again?

Well we didn't get the players we needed or we ended up signing crocks, so I'd argue that neither window was particularly successful in hindsight.

I prefer Fawaz not to come out with statements like this though as it just serves to build peoples hopes up and alerts other chairmen to the fact that that we have big bucks to spend, regardless of whether that's actually true or not.

3/4 windows under Fawaz have been excellent. The core players of this team are excellent. Fawaz is to thank for that.

Everytime Patrick Bamford scored for Derby and every time I saw Wes lead out Leicester to promotion I was reminded what happens to our good players without Fawazin charge. The good players we have are here because of him.

Everyone thinks we have big bucks to spend anyway and offering people some hope is better than crushing them with disappointment.

Last summers transfer window was a very good one in all honesty, and with Pearce in charge looking at the established stars as well as the future I think we're in safe hands.

I think you're misinterpreting the article. Fawaz clearly means Pearce will be given a new knock off to help release some of that testosterone and avoid even more injuries at the club.

Wait, are we trying to say Fawaz didnt give Billy "everything he needs" because we were the biggest spenders in the league last year and signed a lot of players

yeh cos January window was a piss poor showing

If your metric is number of players signed and their nominal cost/value then it was a good showing.

If your metric was the return by minutes played or contribution to the season then it was a bit shit.

When you 'strengthen' in January - does it actual strengthen the squad?

Seriously? Are you for real? FFS after years of Marthur failures, it is fair to say Fawaz delivered in most transfer windows.

Other managers trolled Davies because he's a prize muppet. Pearce has many allies in the game... deals will come a little easier, I feel

I hope 'everything he needs' includes time to build and develop a squad and move forward with it.

Unfortunately there are too many people who are likely to hound him, just as with previous managers, if we're not promoted by Christmas.

Good move SP speaking to the players before the summer either way...gives a few a chance to have a good hard look in the mirror!
