When was the last time he did a decent job anywhere? I think he did ok at Macclesfield and mk. He picked the Blackburn job at the wrong time though. Mark Hughes had just left them in the dizzy heights of 6th or 7th and there was nylons pace they were going from there really. He should have gone to Leicester who were in league one at the time. It would have been a good stepping stone and promotion would have been easily achievable. Probably tried to run before he could walk.

Ince is Gutless, he hasn't got the balls to be a good manager. He called himself "The Governor" but went missing when England needed volunteers to take penalties.

Shearer, Platt, Pearce, Gascoigne, Sheringham and particularly Gareth Southgate had the balls to stand up and be counted in the Euro 96 Semi Final. Not "The Governor". He spent the entire shootout sitting down in the centre circle with Steve McManaman with his back to the goal.

Gutless.

And weren't we all glad when he stepped up the next time we had a penalty shoot out!

You dont create your own nickname you get given it by your mates......Stuart Pearce tried something new for him that stuck with a lot of the fans but not his teammates for some reason. Harsh but at least the effort was there.

At Blackburn he spent something like 20million, more than what hughes had spent through his entire reign. Crazy stuff.

He is a shit manager though.

He has been one of them pests that has publicly applied for what seems to be every job going, there must be a stack of Paul Ince application forms in the NFFC offices from the past few years because I swear he has applied for it each time it has become avaialable!

I feel a bit sorry for him in a way with this one though. I remember Sky reporting he had applied for the job quite early on. They then offered the job to SOD who turned it down, approached Coyle who turned it down, approached Doncaster and Coventry for Robins and Saunders.. who turned it down, then interviewed Davies who turned it down and all went on to other clubs! Then went back to Coyle again who once again turned it down a second time. :D

Not only to have all them people quite publicly known to be preferred candidates ahead of you, but to have the chairman go back to someone for a 2nd attempt before finally offering you the job you've openly wanted just shows how much they didn't want him! Still I got in while the going was good when Davies turned it down and managed to get a bet on Ince at 20/1 so I've made a nice little earner out of it, now I'm going to make another earner out of him taking them down!!

He needs to do well in this job. There aren't many more clubs he can go to where a 'Paul Ince is Black...' thread title is going to work.

Bit harsh that, i'm no big fan but i can remember his great performance out in Italy to get England a draw cementing our world cup qualification . Forgot the year.
