Unless I'm mistaken, our u21 side will take part in this next season.
Maybe we'll be playing Derby again sooner than expected

To be fair,QH-I don't think Forest v Derby's U21's would have the ticket office working overtime. This would be their highlight of the season
Probably in their eyesDoes it count for the Brian Clough trophy?
‘We got 24k in a papa johns game’ (while getting stuffed 4-0 by Forest 21’sThis would be their highlight of the season
I’d be there in a flash NormanTo be fair,QH-I don't think Forest v Derby's U21's would have the ticket office working overtime.
You're not mistaken. We'll be invited under the criteria. Also, as Bournemouth, Brentford, and the 3 clubs coming up aren't Category One, they're going to be a club short and one of the relegated teams will get invited as well.Unless I'm mistaken, our u21 side will take part in this next season.

4.2 An additional sixteen clubs shall be invited to take part in the Competition on the following basis:
4.2.1 the first clubs to receive an invitation will be up to sixteen Clubs that will be participating in the Premier League in the current Season and which operate a Category One Academy (in accordance with the Youth Development Rules). The order of priority will be based on first team finishing position in the immediately preceding Season (across both the Premier League and Championship Division of the League).
4.2.2 if less than sixteen Premier League clubs qualify and/or accept the invitation pursuant to Rule 4.2.1, the League shall then invite:
(i) firstly the three Clubs relegated from the Premier League in the previous Season (provided they operate a Category One Academy); and
(i) then if required the next highest placed Club(s) operating a Category One Academy, until such time as there are no more than sixteen clubs (or Clubs) accepting the invitation to participate, and any club (or Club) accepted into the Competition in accordance with this Rule is an Invited Club.
They had an excellent season. Finished third. One point behind Leeds and SouthamptonI'm too lazy to look, but I've not heard a thing about our U21s this season. Have they been playing in a league? I suppose so, but really under the radar.
I've seen quite a few of their games on YouTube tbf.I'm too lazy to look, but I've not heard a thing about our U21s this season. Have they been playing in a league? I suppose so, but really under the radar.
After losing to Fleetwood Mac and The Lincolnshire Poacher last season, I think Derby will struggle against that lot next season. Papa Smurf will surely outwit Paul Warne, as many a League One manager did last season.
Aye and Papa Smurf wears a better hat than Paul Warne too. After losing to Fleetwood Mac and The Lincolnshire Poacher last season, I think Derby will struggle against that lot next season. Papa Smurf will surely outwit Paul Warne, as many a League One manager did last season.
Annoying isn't it? They have to back fill due to the sub standard academies at Bournemouth and Brentford. Doubt any of the promoted teams have Cat 1 either. It appears Leicester are in the draw. I was under the impression it was only top flight U21 teams that were invited, not the lower league riff raff.
