Good point against a good team. On another day we win that comfortably.

Each week we're showing progress, which ultimately has to be what our season is about.

International break probably comes at a good time. Hopefully gives Taiwo time to get fit - though the genuine squad depth we have right now means we don't need to rush anyone.

My hope was Yates was going to win that from the bench for us. Not quite, but very good away point and looked decent.

Taiwo will be a huge miss with the business done - I remain unconvinced by Origi.
I was hopin' for another "WOODY BOYYYYY!!"

Notice how young Hodgson's bench was?
Where are our academy hotshots?

Proper early-season Prem fare still.
Not unhappy.
Up!

Only saw the stats for this as I was busy, they look impressive for an away game for us. Espcially possession.

Where does Danilo fit in this side when all are healthy?

He doesn't.

As it currently stands not even Yates is breaking into that midfield three which tells you all you need to know.

Decent performance albeit against Palace reserves. Certainly an improvement on some of the dross we saw last season.

Murillo obviously a stand out and he won't be here long if he keeps this up but fair dues that's the new recruitment strategy. His pace and general ability allows us to play further up the pitch, 12 months is a long time when you think this time last year we had Cook and McKenna defending like they'd be fined if they moved more than 25 yards from our own goal.

Everyone was solid enough but we have to find some sort of solution when Awoniyi isn't there. It's not just a lack of goals it's the all-round presence that Wood just doesn't offer.

All in all I'd have taken a point earlier in the week before I realised Palace were missing so many key players but having watched the game it's frustrating not to have won as they were there for the taking.
Gave me a genuine laugh that. Good effort.

I could see Sangare dropping into Mangala's position and Danilo coming in where Sangare was, once the latter is more up to speed. Harsh on Mangala but that's the strength of our midfield now.

Where does Danilo fit in this side when all are healthy?
He will get plenty of playing time. We can't work off of a small squad. I think the Chelsea guy will be the big loser. But that midfield trio are the first names on the game sheet right now, and I don't see that changing any time soon. We'll need the depth.

Perhaps but I've had this discussion previousl that Cooper doesn't play his "destroyers" in the holding role. Yates, Kouyate and now Sangare have all played ahead of Freuler, Shelvey and now Mangala.

I see it as Yates competing with Sangare and Danilo competing with Dominguez. Mangala currently has that #6 spot absolutely nailed.

Squad depth for the rest but not attack.

Forgive me if this has been covered ... did CHO cut inside everytime he made a move, or am I mistaken?

Rooting for him - Elanga brought the fire tho.
It's confidence with Hudson-Odoi. I think Cooper mentioned it before that this is the area he's trying to work on with the lad. Hudson Odoi has had such a rough time with injuries and lack of form that he's lost a bit of self belief.

Sooo close. Shows our improvement that I'm picking out the several games where we've dropped points, where we should have got more. Previously I'd have been grateful for a point away at Palace, but now it's disappointment that we just couldn't squeeze over the line.

Nevertheless any point is a great point away in the Premier League.
