Hopefully that half and crucial tackle from Joe gives him a bit of needed confidence. Doing a good job. Really like the look of Aina, a starter for sure. Excited to see Elanga stretch them in the 2nd half here. Keep her lit lads.

Agreed with Mangala he has a problem with players coming inside,Aina a bit wasteful silly booking,MGW hot and cold..Aurier just play the simple ball..but looking solid, Just hope with the extra midfielder than dont start to overrun us..

Shame about Danillo hopefully something the international break will fix.

Mangala looks miles off the pace.

That new midfield depth ain't half gonna come in handy
Agree about Mangala. I worry about his fitness generally as he seems to struggle to get up and down the pitch. Yates often has to do his running. I just hope the two new midfielders show for the ball a bit more.

No doubting he has class when on the ball but not to the extent where we can carry him.

The more we keep them out, the more chance of catching them out. Biggest worry is Yates getting a clumsy 2nd yellow.

Good half. Big gaps in midfield but we have won it several times high up the pitch which we could do more with, MGW just needs to switch his radar on.

Looked solid mostly at the back.

We've created the best chance.

T is a beast and Aina looks an excellent signing.

Pretty dull half to be honest. Which suits us more.

We had the one good chance but generally Chelsea are controlling the game without looking really dangerous.
In fairness I would expect Chelsea to dominate but we haven’t let them operate on that much space which means our lines are far more compact today which is good. I would say though our transition hasn’t been great today but we are doing well overall.

It's possible we can get something from the game but MGW needs the service and Yates and Mangala/Aurier too close together. Get some width and we can be dangerous with Elanga.

To me it looks as though the ref is giving everything Chelsea's way. No doubt wants a nice comfortable home win so (mostly) everyone goes home happy.

Don't think any of our midfielders are doing themselves a favour to keep their spot apart from RY.

Top end & back end of the pitch looks good.

One less gobshite...
Chelsea have the better of possession but Forest have had largely determined how they've used it. We kept them from our box, preventing them getting the ball to Sterling in the box to cut back. They've been limited to Enzo taking pot shots from outside of the area.

What will the managers do at HT?

Lots of positives in that half!

Keeping Chelsea at arm's length fairly well and they've been struggling to handle Awoniyi.

MGW and Danilo just needed to be a bit calmer in possession.

We have to get that ball in the box from crosses & throw ins quicker, it's clear they cannot handle Taiwo when it happens - same as the game last year.

Andy Reid has turned into a big fine lad mind ain’t he 😍

Chelsea don't have that well worked continuity up front yet. I would expect Sterling is going to run at Aina hard this half, now that he is on a yellow. Aina has been excellent but that was not a smart caution to take.
