I came on here in the week and saw loads of you bellends giving it large like you were Real Madrid and not a team who’d been out of the Premier League for 20 plus years. Apparently we were awful and you’d win easily hahahaha. You are the worst team I’ve ever seen come to the London Stadium. Lingard hahahaha

At least we have a thing in common with Real Madrid unlike you do.

We might be shit, we might have been outside the premier League for a generation, but at least we're not famous for peanuts ffs.

I genuinely feel sorry for your fans being stuck in that soulless excuse for a football stadium which you were bequeathed as a free lunch. Absolutely no atmosphere, over priced tickets and full of day trippers. I would end with some medieval language directed at you and West Ham but out of respect to the anniversary of the passing of Sir Bobby, I won't.

Back to the play pen with yer...

I had to resort to an iffy stream today. I'll be honest - Up until the 60th minute, I couldn't see either team scoring and I was convinced it was going to end 0-0. Then my stream went down and after 5 or so minutes of cursing, I managed to get it back and we were 2-0 up!

I've only ever seen you at home this season and was surprised at how poor you looked today away from home. I really shouldn't be though as it appears as though our away form is no better.

Anyway - I'm sure you'll be fine if you keep that home form going and I wish you luck for the rest of the season. For us, I'm expecting us to be brought back down to earth next week. We're away and we play Brighton who sit 3rd in the form table.
Cheers mate, always good to have a sensible poster from the opposition on.

I felt on the ropes in the first half too, we got away with a few and if it wasn't for some decent defending and questionable finishing we could have been a goal or 2 down in the first half. We never took advantage of the period in the second half where we started to put some pressure on and West Ham got nervy. The capitulation of Forest would be inexplicable if it wasn't for the obvious change from substitutions and easy to spot culprits in defending.

I think that result will kick you on a bit now or at least to survival. We'd all sooner see Leeds go down anyway.

I think that’s a fair comment.

Worse ground I have ever, ever been to though for home atmosphere. Sold your soul to play there. That a fair comment? (And what’s that with you lot streaming out the ground before the final whistle when you’re 4-0 up? Wanting to escape the morgue ?)

People have their opinions and double down on them. Freuler has been the best thing since sliced bread in this forum and Mangala potential bombsquad but for me theirs a fag packet between them. Personally I like Mangala in the side just because of the energy he brings and when Yates isn't available that becomes even more important. Freuler, Shelvey and Colback all have their plus points but it's quite a static choice and therefore no surprise we spent a lot of the game on the back foot.

Not that it would have mattered today anyway as frankly no one was any good. We were toss in the first half in the diamond and toss after the subs in the 4231. That's the real problem with our away games, you could pick whoever you wanted in whatever formation you wanted and we'd still find a way to look like rabbits in the headlights, a complete contrast to the same players in the same formation at home games who look every bit the part. So weird.

We're going to need another result or two away from home to keep us up in my opinion, we cannot rely on our home form alone. I don't even know how the hell we go about the approach to fixing it because it seems so ingrained this season.

But park that one for now. All focus on Everton. It's simply a must win game.
Perhaps when we have enough injured players back Cooper may have a different strategy for our awa6 games.

Apart from a 10 minute spell prior to the first goal I thought we were really poor all afternoon. The collapse was messy & very reminiscent of quite a few of the poorer results we've had this season, hopefully heads don't drop as next week is massive.

At our best this season, we've played quick football on the break, to supply 3 mobile forwards, who've been a handful & backed up with aggression & legs in midfield. In possession we've never really offered much so when the physical levels drop off, we look a pretty limited team. West Ham weren't great but they looked a fair distance ahead of this on todays evidence. Which I suppose is not a surprise when they have Rice & Paqueta in midfield.

I hope Wood continues to pop up with important goals but he just looks a really poor fit when he starts. He can't run, he doesn't stretch teams and he makes us so easy to defend against. It's not all his fault, as it's as though the rest of the team haven't noticed we've got a static target man up front. Johnson had one or two moments where it looked like he might pull something out of nothing with a run from deep but he eventually fizzled out. MGW had another of those games like Fulham; we have to be careful not to try & change him as his talent will win us games but sometimes he just needs to put his foot on the ball & keep it.

Shelvey had his moments & gives us far more in possession than any of the other midfielders we've accumulated but he definitely needs legs around him, I'm not sure the answer to that is Colback & Freuler who were both really poor. I like Jack & he can do a job but I'm not sure he was in our best midfield last year so this is always gonna be a tough ask. Freuler hasn't impressed in one of the wider CM roles, will probably fight it out with Jonjo if & when we get Yates/Kouyate back.

The full backs struggled but the way we lined up they were basically left one-v-one all game with Benrahma & Bowen. Williams gave it a go & tried to get tight to Benrahma but he just doesn't look a natural in those situations. Lodi on the other hand constantly backed off & gave Bowen the freedom of the right wing, the first goal was an awful piece of defending. The CB's did okay for the most part, especially Felipe but we're asking far too much of them & the GK at the moment.

I can understand why Cooper took Shelvey off for Ayew as we were doing relatively well at that point & probably thought the momentum was shifting but it left us well short in midfield and they took control. In hindsight, we should probably have gone like-for-like with Mangala & tried to continue with the way we had started the 2nd half.

Strange comments. I believe we were all happy to have clung on, riding our luck and scored with a magnificent albeit only shot on goal. That doesn't sound like we suddenly thought we were Real Madrid. Today we missed yet another important player in Aurier. We are not a Real Madrid that would have a fantastic player to replace the umpteenth injured one.

I'm guessing you were drunk after your game last week (sorry, how did that one go?!!) and were unable to read the comments correctly. Or maybe you found a comment and reread it continually presuming lots more people said the same.

hasn't worked yet and won't work. Even our former scottish manager billy quickly found out that the formation he used at home do not work away.
Maybe you should consider what slightly more successful managers do, eh ?

Also, couldn't be any worse, could it?

Just returned from an East End knees up (not).
I felt Steve Cooper got it wrong today when Shelvey came off and was replaced by Ayew-surely the lesson
from the early season should have been learnt-you can’t afford to be light in midfield at this level.
Hopefully,we can replicate our form after the 4-0 rout at Leicester (this season) and a similar capitulation
and scoreline at Liverpool in November 1966 and go on a good run.
The game against Everton looks massive.

"London Stadium" lol. It's an athletics track, and easily the most soulless, least atmospheric ground in England. As far as I'm concerned, the real West Ham United died when Upton Park was demolished. What's left of the club? A geriatric owner dressing up as a communist dictator in the stands and an empty trophy cabinet?

The game was completely turning in our favour on the 55-65 minute mark, we had a couple of big chances with Brennan & the West Ham crowd was turning. There was a 2-3 min stoppage & I think Cooper smelt blood & made the wrong decision in hindsight to abandon our midfield to go for more attacking system which had a poor outcome as they scored against the run of play. Then the game was lost by our atrocious game management after the goal. I agree with Cooper’s comments afterwards completely. But up to that point there really was something to be had from the game. In my eyes it was never a 4-0 game.

We will struggle in games until Aurier is back IMO, for me, if he played today it would have been a different result. I hope worst case scenario he only misses the Everton game - which is a game all the bad from today can be reversed & we will still be well on track with a positive result from that game.

Also, It was the worst stadium I have ever been too to watch a footballer match, and I’ve been to some shockers. The atmosphere was embarrassing & the layout of the stadium was even worse. They can gloat all they want today, they’ll forever be stuck in that god awful stadium.

Agree, it was an absolutely pitiful, pathetic effort from the start barring a spell early in the 2nd half.

Embarassing to be honest. I doubt we'll get another point on the road this season based on this showing.

Im not having this blaming individual players either, im fed up with it. Tactically it was a joke, the subs were a joke. You cant keep defending for 90 minutes and expect to hit teams on the break week in week out. Today our luck ran out, simple as that. Cooper got Moysey'd.

Gutted.
I disagree. If we get most of our injured players back then our defence will be less vulnerable. This means we have more chance and flexibility with our choices further up the pitch.

The team Cooper wants is continually being nibbled at by injuries. I have been amazed at the points he has still managed to get us. Unfortunately the team yesterday was finally the one I jury too many. This meant when Cooper tried to make a positive change because Shelvey had to come off any way fitness-wise it was doomed to fail. People shouting that he should have brought in x, y or z m9re attacking minded player are wrong (imo) because it wouldn't have made a difference to our then weakened defensive players.

As others have said, he tried and this time it didn't work, but I would argue the team is getting too thin now. Apart from that I'm still still pissed off VAR didn't see a penalty which meant we could have continued not attacking.

Another point I would like to make is that we have quite a few players that are perhaps not atvthevPL level that we needcright now but that are improving. When we have a strong team team (meaning a lot of our currently injured players) they look fine and are given the chance to improve without too many consequences.

Right now our squad is depleted and too many of these players are having to begin the squad at one-time. This is unfortunate as it diminishes their confidence, doesnt give them the chance to learn and improve, and it gets a lot of fans on their backs screaming they are useless and not good enough - whereas in a team with better players around them they can shine.

It's just the situation we are in right now. Let's keep the faith and not completely erode any chance of these PL inexperienced players actually making it for us going forward (I mean the future, not attacking)...

Imagine the worst team youve ever played being above you in the league 🤣

Some slight positives - Toffolo and Lingard looked quite good when they came on

If Niakhate travelled does that mean we might see him soon?

Lodi is presumably injured though?
