Lots of so called you teams struggle at clubs lower down the PL........Newcastle were lucky to get a point at Bournemouth last Saturday for example. Everton beat Arsenal also last weekend. Steve Cooper's a smart coach, he'll have a plan I'm sure. Our biggest issue is injuries - if we had our full squad we'd be higher in the PL.
Well, he hasn't so far, though Cooper is still learning as well as clearly not being helped by the injuries.

Even last month when we played Man Utd in the cup we didn't really seem to have an answer or create anything clear cut apart from the goal which was disallowed by VAR in the 1st leg. It seemed to me Man Utd could have gone for more there as well but decided to prioritise other matches as at 5-0 on agg the tie was already won, in fact it was largely all sealed by the end of the 1st leg.

In the other matches against the current top 4 we have lost 5-0 to Arsenal away, 6-0 to City away, 3-0 to Man Utd away and 2-0 to Newcastle away where we didn't really do anything at all. In fact even in the other matches we haven't really created much or threatened the top side as though we are in awe of even playing them still.

So far I haven't seen anything in our matches against the top clubs that suggests otherwise - so we beat Liverpool and drew with Chelsea but in actual fact they aren't that far ahead of us in terms of league position...

Can we get Duncan McKenzie in on an emergency loan?

These big losses were all part of the master plan for this specific pivatol match. We've lulled them into a false sense of security so we can surprise them and nick a 1-0 win. Obvious in hindsight when I say it but Wood's performances were also part of the plan. Right now they have no idea how they need to nullify him, what his strategy is. This is why he will pop up and give us the 1-0 win.... :)

Is that a wooden Swiss clock I hear in the background?

More chance of Dunkin doughnuts
Every time I checked into a hotel in the States I went to Dunkin Donuts bought 6 doughnuts and a quart of real OJ and sat watching a really soppy film. Just loved it. Actually it was football if that was on.

Worsley Red

First Team Squad
Navas
Aurier Niakhate Felipe Lodi
Shelvey Freuler Danilo
Scarpa
MGW Johnson

I really hope Niakhate is fit as I fear Worrall will be torn a new one.

Apparently Niakhate is only two weeks away

Graham Scott is the referee for this one. Last time at the WFCG was for the Wolves carabooboo game. First time for a Premier game for us.

Peter Bankes hopefully getting it right with the technology.

Jesus-what a start!
Duncan McKenzie gave the best individual performance I’ve seen from a Forest player.
Truly magical.
Duncan was pretty special that day as you say Cloughie, to the point that he was virtually unplayable as far as City was concerned. As I remember, Bomber and George Lyall were immense, whilst Sammy was imperious at the back. Even Richo deserved a special mention for marking Colin Bell out of the game.

Ahhh... George Lyall my first Forest hero. My seven year old self not at all pleased with Cloughie when he sold him.
Indeed, I felt the same and I was 26!

If there was one player that many of us at the time thought would thrive under Cloughie, it was Lyall. The facts are however that Cloughie never took to him and seemingly couldn't wait to move him on, despite him clearly being one of the team's best players.

I absolutely agree. When you consider that Lyall replaced Archie Gemmill at Preston and was not a dissimilar type of player I thought Cloughie would have brought out the best in George. I do remember him scoring a 30 yard screamer at Millwall one Monday night.

My starting 11:

Navas
Aurier, Worrall, Felipe, Lodi
Shelvey, Frueler, Mangala
Gibbs-White
Johnson, Surridge

If they win tonight, they'll be right up for smashing us and consolidating themselves at the top. If they lose, their heads might drop and we have an outside change of grabbing something?

Mr Realistic
Is there an argument to rest both Worrall and Felipe for this and stick someone like Wood and Dennis in there...?

Yes I am joking, sort of...

I wonder how many of the starting 11 tonight will start against us with a champions league tie next week?

More chance of Dunkirk Flyover
Can we tip it onto one side and lay across the centre line? Football tennis might suit us better here

I'm not normally a negative fan, but with our injury list i can only see a right gubbin here....

oh great, Haaland has found his scoring boots again tonight :-( I was hoping they would remain lost until at least Monday......
