After the bump, this poll has caught up with the other one for number of voters just about. As long as Francis is ok with any slight over-voting by anybody I think we have 68 goals with at least 2 votes (including the McPherson one Francis is voting for himself as he's said already) over the two polls. I think it's 36 with 3 votes so at the moment they'd all be heading for a place on forest forever's video.

If you want to list up to another 9 on the thread, I can make sure I count them up when it comes to the deadline. Maybe someone else could even add them to the poll for you but doesn't matter if not really. We're due to have some more polls to try and finalise an order anyway.

This is due to close on Saturday - obviously I'll wait for you to get your own ten choices finalised Francis (although you might do it before then - but if not I'll wait till you've posted them even if they don't get added to the poll) and also for you to check you're happy nobody has gone too far over the limit of 10 choices on either poll.

After that I can start up a secondary poll, or polls, to narrow down peoples choices and try to sort out an order for forest forever's video.

No, it's not a poll option for me to do that. But we can keep bumping it and asking people to list top 10's for a few extra days/weeks if you like. I can count them up no problem (if we get a sudden surge to challenge me on that maybe you can help lol - but at the current rate it'd be no problem - if anything would we get yet more votes on poll 2 from people logging in for the new season?). Sorry, I did sort of have in mind that the polls would overlap pre-season and the next polls would run into the season but even though I thought 60 days was plenty maybe I should have consulted you.

I was hoping I hadn't cut your enthusiasm off by getting a bit unhappy at the reactions to my Diaby thread (which weren't as bad as I thought....and now I see some poor fella who writes a blog about Forest has worse stick because he didn't realise about the new striker thread lol!).

I know Francis Benali (on loan) is coming back to this at a later stage in the season, to bump and take some more votes before we move on to the next phase of voting.

I might as well bump now too though, with a video which shows the Birtles goal (assisted by Woodcock) at Middlesbrough from 78-79 (at 35:50):

Not on the poll, but the goals (both Woodcock assisted again) at Derby are also on there. A few of these videos have appeared recently so maybe some more goals on the poll are on there (there is a Wallace overhead kick on one of the videos but not sure it was Southampton (a)from 82-83; the O'Neill goal at Bristol City is one the 77-78 one with the other two Forest goals from that game).

Bit of a random one, and the goal isn't on the poll anyway, but I was thinking this first goal by Hodge away at Milwall in 88/89 (the video appeared randomly as a Youtube recommendation to me, although I've seen the goals before) is really worth a mention - excellent team move, nice pass by Webb to the on-running Super Colin Foster (not sure he was ever called that, but I'm calling him it now lol!) doing a Beckenbauer impression, great contribution by Crosby, intelligent flick-on by Chapman and impressive finish at the end too with Hodge's 'wrong' foot - it'd get more attention if scored in a bigger game anyway I'd say!

I'm not really attempting a bump of the thread (I'm possibly done with posting pretty much now, and Francis Benali on Loan hasn't been around himself), although feel free to mention whichever goals come to mind now I have done obviously - on the poll or not.

I can't see Joe Baker's overhead bicycle kick v Burnley back in the mid-1960s.
He had Colin Waldron up his bum (Waldron was 7 feet 3 inches tall IIRC).
Joe was 15 yeard out from goal, with his back to it.
He received the pass, flicked the ball up with one foot and executed the perfect OHBK to score.

Francis v Malmo and Robbo v Hamburg have to be there; I'd add Birtles and Barrett v Liverpool in the 1st round.

That only leaves four - Jim Baxter v Southampton if it's the one where he volleyed their keeper's clearance back into the net from 30 yards.

Woodcock's second at Man Utd in the 4-0 win.

Then I'd go back to goals I saw live, and that first European Cup - Anderson v AEK, and Robbo's diving header v Cologne.

I'm in awe.

I do remember Joe Baker scoring at the other end when we beat Man U 3-1 with virtually 50,000 in the ground. Route 1, lobbed the keeper.

My dad brought a low stool in for me to stand on, in the Trent End, not a great idea with frequent crowd surges. Girls squealing when George Best had the ball. Those were the days.
