9 years. Wow. Feels like just a few years ago.

It's all about mid-table...
I didn't start to feel life flying by 'til about a decade ago (5 minutes).

RIP Nigel, not be long before all on here will be joining you.

Live life every single day folks, there's no replay and no rehearsal.

Forget money, laugh love and enjoy, ya get ONE crack at it.

Was badly advised when running the club

Well that’s a theme.
regardless of any perceived faults he was a true red through and through and this isn’t the time for exploring them.....
I was always glad of his support and proud that he chose to stay near Newark when he could have lived anywhere

Good bloke, big heart, loved the club. Fondly remembered by many even though his his tenure saw some of the worst moments of the last 20 it also saw the best.

RIP my Doughty. A gentleman and someone I'm proud to share the name of the club with.

Anyone who knows anything about Forest in the late 90s / early 2000s knows we owe Nigel the biggest debt of gratitude for saving us from some total carpet baggers.

The way some so-called fans hounded him out of the club was nothing short of a disgrace.

RIP Nigel. You went far before your time.

Disgrace is being kind.

One of the lowest ebbs of following Forest was watching our own fans turn on our owner who'd put in his own money to keep the club going during some dark days. He never sought fame or adulation for his efforts, he was just happy to be part of the Forest story.

The following 9 years have shown that the theory of "throw money at it gain promotion" which was apparently why he needed to go wasn't going to work for us, and indeed our best finish of the recent era came with tight knit group of players under Doughty's watch.

Still irks me that there's many on here that contributed to hounding him out. He wasn't perfect no, but he was Forest through and through and the club was in better hands then than it has been since.

Perhaps one of the most iconic images in Forest history.

Its something I hope he can be proud of is how our academy has come along in his name.

We owe more than what he did during his time here to him, he has had a major part to play in ensuring we have a future... even with cowboy foreign owners

The Nigel Doughty Academy is a fitting legacy.
