Really do hope Steven Reid stays, he was here before Cooper and has shown loyalty to the club. Will almost feel like a bit of soul has remained if he stays.

Reid will be an advisor to Santo as he was never really part of Cooper's team. He'll have his own views on the squad, what went wrong etc - valuable for Nuno.

Doesn't necessarily mean he will stay long term.

I have it on good authority that Steven Reid and one other are staying but the rest of the coaching staff have gone.
The other one is Andy Reid, apparently the ground improvements don't extend yet to enlarging the doors to get him out lol

He's burrowing through the dressing room to Tottenham as we speak...

Seriously the other one is likely to be the new set piece coach isn't it? Unlikely he'd be leaving after a week or two even if he was Cooper's choice. OTOH a new employee is often easier to get rid of because of probationary periods (if they have that in football) so if Nuno's entourage also has one...

There's no way Rusk won't have negotiated a pay-off from day 1 if fired given he was Cooper's choice and the whole world and his dog has known Cooper was on the ropes for weeks.

I can only go from my own observations, but Steven Reid was part of Steve's matchday staff, routinely participating in bench-side discussions with Steve, Andy Reid and Alan Tate during games.

What I meant was that he wasn't part of Cooper's team at Swansea that followed him to Forest. He was a club appointment who got on well and was trusted by Cooper, but is unlikely to follow Cooper to wherever he ends up next.

My misunderstanding; you make a fair point.

Yes, he was Hughton's coach and was made caretaker when Hughton was sacked and retained by Cooper.

In the long article by Daniel Taylor at the Athletic about Cooper's sacking, there's a story about Gianni Vio, Tottehnahm's very well-regarded set-piece coach under Conte, whom Forest meant to employ and with whom terms had been agreed upon. Cooper disagreed and cancelled the arrangement, although he was already on his way out, and thus Rusk -Cooper's choice- was hired.

The funny thing is that almost the exact same thing reportedly had happened with Gianni Vio at Olympiacos earlier. Diego Martínez, although already under fire and about to be fired, refused to approve the already agreed upon signing of Vio (in fact he reportedly did not either bother to show up in the meeting where the two men would meet), and no set-piece coach was hired.

I don't believe in coincidences, so I'm wondering if Taylor got his Marinakis stories confused.

Two Vios don’t make a right.

That does seem a bit too coincidental.

John Percy also reported the Vio talks about a month ago.

The Athletic reporting Nuno had made appointments to his back room:

Rui Pedro Silva and Julio Figueroa assistant coaches, Rui Barbosa Goalkeeper coach and Antonio Dias fitness coach.

Also Steven Reid remains

Good to hear Nuno's getting the old band together. Heard from one of the Wolves podcasters on YouTube that things didn't go as well at Tottenham because he didn't have the no2 he had at Wolves. If he brings him back at Forest, it will be even better.

His fitness coach is an interesting one - he had almost 99% player availability one season at wolves, and used 19 players throughout the whole season.

(Ironically it was an injury crisis that lead to him eventually leaving, most notably the skull fracture of Jimanez)
