Never leave a game early...

This wally did, missed Coventry scoring twice in the last ten minutes and phoned up the local radio to moan about it.

My grandad was a Derby fan (I forgave him for it) and he told me of a similar thing. He'd gone to an away game on a bus and they were 2 down with 10 minutes to go. He wasn't very happy so thought he'd beat the rush and left to go back to the bus. He was simultaneously happy and gutted when the rest of the fans came back to the bus celebrating them scoring twice in the last 5 mins.
It was a long time ago. I doubt that they could do it now, but it does illustrate that it's not a one off.

Must've been a long time ago... Derby fans? At an away game?!

The most surprising thing is that a local radio phone-in caller actually went to a game at all...

More surprising that they needed an actual bus.

Usually a taxi is plenty to accommodate their entire away following.

Possibly the maaaaaaaaaaadest and whappiest I have ever gone. Sheer joy.

More than deserved and THANK YOU

Used to stand on the Brigoford end with my old man and his friends, one of them left early as it was a terrible game and he wanted to beat the rush out. Strangely he has also never left a game early since that day lol

CHOICE is as both metioned and more than. All I can and will say is that Choice is both very hard yet easy in the face of pressure.
Every presssre is hard andd unique. Love my baby xxxxxx

Fans leaving games early was, with the full agreement of Frank Skinner, put into Room 101 by Clive Anderson last week so it shouldn't happen any more.

Glad to say I saw Des' goal because I never, ever left a match early. It constantly baffles me why so many people do it. They deserve to miss important and historic goals.

Has he singed yet?
I've only ever done it once. We were losing 5-1 to Manchester United just as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was about to come on as a sub. I don't think I missed anything important...

Doncaster on boxing day, I think is the only early exit for me.

Only the once I've left early for Forest, when we lost to Leeds 4-0. We would've stayed until the end but the guy we go to games with had to go to the ticket office. Felt wrong doing it, though we got home in record time! :D

I think it's acceptable at England games though, if you stay until the end you have several thousand people ahead of you cramming into the underground.

I rarely leave early and if I do leave early because I've got something else I have to do after the game, it's only 2/3 minutes from the end. Me and my dad have been travelling an hour to home matches for over 20 years now, so I think it's understandable if we want to beat the traffic occasionally. I think I've only ever missed two late goals, one being Henderson on Tuesday but more annoyingly, Steve Stone's against Bayern Munich. Des Walker's goal was absolutely epic.

I don't like leaving early at all but can half understand it if we're getting stuffed but those who were getting in my way on Tuesday at 5-1 up with 8 minutes to go whilst we were on the attack should piss off!

As can part timers who stand on the stairs for 10 minutes trying to work out where their seats are after getting into the ground 10 minutes late?!

I didn't find out until Monday morning why their fans were signing his name on the way out of the ground

Coventry away in the League cup in the early 90s. We were 4-0 down after about half an hour and hundreds, if not thousands, of Forest fans stormed out. By half way through the second half we'd brought it back to 4-4. We went on to lose 5-4 but that equaliser going in is one of my best football memories ever.
