Most disappointing Forest defeats in games you’ve attended

Probably too many to mention for most of you!
Anyway,I’ll start with my (cough) favourites in chronological order-

1.League Cup Final 1980 v Wolves (Clough got the team selection wrong by playing Trevor Francis wide right as we lost chasing a third successive League Cup win).
2.UEFA Cup Semi Final 1984 v Anderlecht (disappointing on the night but even worse years later when the revelations about the referee came out).
3.Semi-final Play-off 2nd leg v Sheffield United 2003 (the game hinged on Forest not lining a defensive wall up properly (sound familiar?) and we subsequently lost a match in which we were on top and
fairly comfortable).
4.League 1 Play-off v Yeovil 2007.What can you say?

I’m sure you can all add to the list of misery 😁

1985 Sunlun away lost 1-0 in the Milk Cup, got booted about at school in the run up to the game and plenty after,

Howard Gayle thanks a bunch.

Some really good choices there, Cloughie, all felt gutting at the time. I can't exactly recall the name of the Romanian team that put us out of the European Cup in late 1980 but that really felt like the end of an era at that moment, combined as it was with a steep decline in league form and a disintegration of that great side.

That was November 1984,Bonfy.
The reason I remember that is because the following year (1985) I went to QPR for a League
Cup night game-it was snowing heavily just before kick-off (obscuring the lines on their plastic pitch) but luckily it stopped only for the floodlights to fail just before the game started!
We lost the rearranged game 3-1 (which I couldn’t attend!).
A long and wasted trip.

1986 Newcastle away 3-2 defeat, Carr And Starbuck for us.

I was in the Gallowgate with my pops, the two of us offered the Mags out after the game for a straightener.

You’ve triggered me Cloughie 🤣🤣.

It was Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia-it did feel like the end of an era.
We played a Romanian side (Arges Pitesti) the previous season in the competition.

Aye... I remember the home leg at the City Ground. That certainly was the beginning of the end of that particular era.

Justin Fashinu and Ian Wallace were the way forwards. :(

These two for me. Plus:

Blackpool play-off semi final second leg: A great season just collapsed in a really shit fashion. f***ing DJ Campbell.

Scunthorpe at home on TV in the Megson League One season: When it became apparent that a quick return to the Championship was not on the cards.

McClaren's last game against Birmingham: A proper downing of tools from a bunch of tools playing under a complete and utter tool of a manager.

Sauce salad?
Blackburn away was a bad one 7-0 was it? I hink we cheered the sixth going in, not the seventh 'cos it was that **** Le Saux. Dreadful.

My most depressing ever I've mixed up a bit over the years: I thought it was Barnsley away under Clough in the relegation season... I thought it was under him with the writing very much on the wall but it turns out it was under Clarke the next year just before Stan got us going again - I only found out a year or so ago after chatting about it on here! At the time I remember thinking how low we'd slumped when Bob Rosario shoed one over the bar from a few feet. Little did I know what was coming next!

Edit: the wembley loss to United was a bad one too - noone wants to go to wembley and lose.
