Well, I hope they catch the inbred, and that he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law and banned from football grounds forever.

Football does not need cretins like that.

MGW comes across as a lovely lad, and so does his young lady.

I think he'll be considering his options, regardless of what league we're in.

His progress as a player is being hampered by the quality of the players around him.

I think we're currently looking at 60-70% of the finished product.

Well you’d think Spurs would be a good fit, but they already have Maddison?
I think they want to hit teams faster than he plays at - whether they'll find a way to play both or one fights it out with the other I've no idea, though he's usually withdrawn around the 70 minute mark so I think there would be game time for both, and there have been concerns about their ability to break sides down of late, which is his job so...

Really poor game for him today. Nothing was coming off and when that is happening he should adapt his game to cut out all the fancy stuff and play it simple. He doesn’t and is a liability at times. I’ve no doubt top half teams will be interested in him but he hasn’t got the finishing ability of an elite level player And his final ball is either brilliant or shit.

I think Spurs, with Geordies a not very close second.

I think Aston Villa will be his suitors.

Chucked a bit of money about last season so aren't afraid of it, and have a real need for a creative #10 hook because they're shoehorning in McGinna at the moment. Qualifying for Europe so more money/pull still.

Suits MGW too: Obvious route into first team, European football, knows Birmingham well - probably doesn't even need to uproot his family life to play there.

Spurs is probably all agent talk. They're not going to play MGW ahead of James Maddison. Newcastle a possibility but in my head second in line to Villa.

This was a game tailor made for him to put a stamp on it, and he didn't. He was poor. The past few performances have been great, but today, when a top performance was needed, he was MIA. He's a frustrating player. I realize not everyone can hit the heights all of the time, but I didn't see what Everton were doing tactically that negated what he should have been able to offer.

He was double marked by Doucoure and Gueye.

I'm not so sure it's agent talk: strikes me very much as an Ange type (more so than Maddison fwiw) in that it's all about the fast attack. I think they're building Angeball types, and he'll want and get him.

Exactly, made ours look invisible.
Apart from when we created the Wood chance, the Gibbs-White chance, The chipped cross to Wood that got blocked by Youngs arm and when CHO was put clean through and got taken out form behind. Everton didn't create anything, they took two pot shots from distance that hit the post with.

2 pot shots and they won - 3 points and practically safe.

My point being, watching the match, albeit on crappy sky, that it seemed that when our players got the ball, especially out wide, there were 2 Everton players there quickly. Compared to the reverse situation where Forest seem to let them drift through. Everton's actions seemed quicker to close down our players.

I fully understand different set ups, tactics etc.

I think they paid him some attention. Not certain double marked is wholly accurate. I think Dyche worked his plan well, and they took their chances when they had them.
I was there and watched the game play out. Doucore played a much more withdrawn game than he would normally, and him and Gueye were quite close the whole game. MGW was struggling to find space and if he tried to turn one, the other would cover.

But when MGW got the ball he did eff all with it 90% of the time. And he missed a sitter a U15 would finish. His passing was less than stellar. He lost the ball a few times under circumstances where he should not. His performance wasn't good enough, not by a long shot. These are games that we need him to be our best player, or at least make a tangible impact. He didn't.

You asked what Everton did tactically to keep MGW quiet. I gave you my take on it.

Yep. Villa fit like a glove.

That will be blueprinted. He has to be better than that if all our hopes are pinned to his mast.
