Don't bother searching youtube for the obligatory goals video. I've looked and it isn't worth it.

That's a weird one. I was almost certain that Guerrero would go back to Spain, where he was wanted by Leganés, where we had loaned him.

Guerrero is what his name says, a fighter. Relentless workrate, he will press the opponent's defence and fight for every ball until after the referee has blown the final whistle. In fact, he works so hard that he forgets to do his main job, score goals...

I thought GBG said he presses relentlessly and works hard?

I thought he looked good against us in last years friendly. Scored a powerful strike if I remember? Infact I think I remarked I was hoping he was one we'd get from them. The sort who can do a job at this level.

Ah, this is the Forest I remember, after been linked to actual proven strikers we sign some cheap cast off from Olympiacos.

I’m sure this one will be amazing though ....

To be fair though we have two proven ones. Juke was never realistic as a third striker.

Not realistic for a club who's not about to receive 14m for 1 player, with 2m potentially to follow.

If selling the likes of Cash for that amounts means we still can't get players like Juke in then there's no point selling them.

Every other club flaunts FFP, we should be able to sell a player for that much and still bring the likes of Juke here IMO.

Realistic in the sense of cost but also the idea that juke would want to sit behind Taylor and Grabban. Ok we have received money but how much would the cost of juke in transfer cost, agents fees, signing fees etc... Juke will be on more than we had cash on, significantly I’d think. He’ll certainly want more as it could be his last big contract. So we could end up spending the 2/3 of the cash money on a third choice striker even if he did want to play second or third fiddle.

Surely that isn’t a good situation?

If Grabban goes then the situation is different. But guerrero could still be the third striker we need and a few people who know their football say he looked good against us last season and can be a handful. He may be shite but this doesn’t seem that bad a deal.

Nor very wise football-wise: if you have two proven scorers, it makes more sense for the third choice to be someone mobile and hard-working rather than a target man. Guerrero can easily play alongside Grabban or Taylor. He's a team player who opens spaces for others to score, even if he does not score much himself.

I’m sold GBG. Barry will be a tougher sale!!

I also notice his poor goal scoring record is similar to Jutkiewicz scoring record.

I think it's a good point if that's the case, but everyone's assuming Lamouchi will only use 1 striker. Given 3, I think 2 strikers will start a significant amount of times, esp at home. That'll give all 3 plenty of game time over a season. As GBG say with Guerrero, a complimentary option.

Regards wage again make you right mate, but at what point do you commit to a promotion push?

Look at it the other way, last year we sold Appiah, the year before Brereton, the year before Britt (alongside others) - is our only purpose in life to develop players for other clubs, and be stuck in a constant cycle of develop-sell-develop-sell?

There has to come a point when said sales are reinvested to form a squad capable of promotion. If all Britts/Appiahs/Breretons/Cash's/etc sale does is buy us time, then we're forever waiting on a future which will never come.

That is exactly the cycle we are in, just like Leicester, and it has not done them too much harm

Matt Smith looks a world beater playing against us, I still wouldn’t sign him.

Didn't this lad rip us to shreds last pre-season? Remember thinking I wish we had a player like him

I still don't really see the need for another striker but we clearly want one.

True:LOL:

I wonder what Stephen Dobbie is doing nowadays!

Waiting for us to make the playoffs so he can come out of retirement to score against us.

He won't play as lone striker.

He will play behind the striker or by his side and he will make a lot here to love him really.

He is so well suited for championship football that will surprise a lot

It's a good signing that will help lamouchi and I believe he wants him

He can make even a few minutes appearances to count even by pressing and defending when you want to hold a result.

I like the sound of this.

Sounds like just what we need.
