How can this be? Surely everybody knows it was the fans fault that he didn't play well, by complaining that 9 goal in 75 appearances wasn't a great return for £1m (plus however many millions more we paid him in wages and bonuses).

Fair play to the lad.

Never rated him that much personally and he knows his limitations, very refreshing to hear a player saying it how it is.

There is hundreds and hundreds of the same ilk getting away with absolute murder stealing a fortune, weed them out and f*** 'em off.

I always felt McGoldrick had talent but we just couldn't get it out of him.

Maybe it was the pressure of playing for the club he supports, but he looked like he had stage-fright most of the time.

84 starts, 23 subs, 34 goals for Ipswich. For the type of player he was, I think that's a fair record.

If anything he's one of the few failures you could lay at Davies's door. Definitely a player which others have got more from.

Was the victim of Billy's insistence that you need 6/7 strikers at the club at the same time. Garner/Earnshaw/Blackstock/Adebola/McGoldrick/Tyson. May have even missed one out.

Crazy when you think about it now really. All did different jobs but no need for that many.
