I'd take Foderingham from Sheff Utd. He's not been playing recently (except today) as he refused to sign a new contract.
I normally hold your opinion in high regard. But think fodderingham is terrible. I want him nowhere near Forest. I’d take turner over him as second choice any day.

Turner is good enough to be second choice goalkeeper. It's easy to forget that he actually had a really good start to his time with us - it was just a shame that when his confidence went, it badly affected him - and, unfortunately for all parties, Vlachodimos was absolutely hopeless so Turner was thrown back into the firing line when his head clearly wasn't right.

There's a good goalkeeper in there somewhere at least - as opposed to Vlachodimos who is so ineffective at stopping shots I'm beginning to suspect he doesn't actually exist.

In any case, Sels has been terrific. Just what we needed to steady the ship - and clearly has the mental fortitude to handle the immense pressure he's been under.

Sels seems to have the overall game for a genuine Prem number 1. Looks like he’s settled into life at Forest and I’m another in the camp that’d be pleased to see him as our starter for next campaign. Any significant upgrade will likely break the bank and use funds that’d be much better invested elsewhere in the squad. Just need to find someone to take Turnip, Odysseus Dropsalotashots and some magic beans off our hands…

We’d be mid table if it wasn’t for Turner, he was absolutely shocking.

It looks like Sels may have the Number 1 jersey for the Belgian national team after 3 caps in 2024.

I must admit I hadn't heard much of him before so he's certainly surprised me in the best possible way.

He's a lot calmer and stoic than recent goalkeepers Forest have had. As Roy Keane would say, he just gets on and does his job without drama. When he makes a mistake, it doesn't look like his world falls apart. He tries to make up for it and he's switched on straight away.

£5m? Another bargain really.

I think Forest see him as a stop gap solution and may upgrade, but he deserves to keep his place. He wouldn't want to be no 2.
I wasn't overly excited when he was signed but he's been great and has been getting better and better the more he's played.

He's a starting goalkeeper for the third ranked national team in the World and Forest only consider him a stop gap?

I think Forest should count their blessings and spend what money they have where it's needed for a couple of years.

To be fair, he would be behind Courtois but he's currently injured.

They may have changed their mind perhaps since he's been better than any of us thought.

Definitely not a stop gap keeper for me, he's been more than solid and a vast improvement on Vlach and Turner

No issue with him remaining as our first choice keeper going forward

I also think Turner is adequate as backup so the only issue is who do we want as third choice? Hennessey wasn't up to much and isn't getting any younger and Vlach is beyond shit

Sels is a good keeper who is defo Prem level.

Is he top 10 level? Probably not, but he deserves time to at least prove he is/isn't whilst we address other priority areas in the squad.

The only negatives I see against him are when comparing him to those better keepers in this league, and even then we need to bare in mind some of our defending has been garbage, especially from set pieces.

99% of the worlds goalkeepers would be behind Courtois.

Sels is more than good enough to be our number one for the foreseeable future. To be honest, it would frankly be a relief to finally have a settled first choice again after the last couple of years.
Exactly this

Your goalkeeper is the one position you don't want to be in a state of flux

If nothing else keeping Sels between the sticks long term might help settle what's been quite a shaky defence
