A Sunday home fixture against Manchester City always brings back memories of the
Duncan McKenzie demolition job in 1974.
I can’t go this game as I am attending a wedding but I shall be more interested in updates from
the City Ground than the ceremony itself.

I remember the game vividly.
We've always had to sell our best players to survive.
We always will, too

I think there's a case to be made for some players to be rested for this, with Sheffield United coming up after.

Pointless game

Pointless being played, pointless is what Forest will get out of it

If we forfeit the game, the default score is 0-3, right?

There’s no chance of Forest playing a weakened side in my opinion.
Our record at the City Ground hasn’t been too bad recently and we gave Liverpool and Arsenal
a run for their money.
City are obviously overwhelming favourites but bear in mind that they play tomorrow and could
still be feeling the effects on Sunday.
With a raucous crowd behind us I wouldn’t totally write Forest off.

Give it a lash Forest. At them from the start and nipping and pinching and all the dark arts. Their 12th man will be the officials, ours will be the WFCG 🤍❤️

I like the option of giving Sangare a run in a game like this. Nobody expects anything from the game and no expectation of our midfield dominating. But if he plays well or shows something against these, it could be the lift he needs and change the mindset of the crowd towards him.

City to declare at 312-2.

Forest bowled-out for a paltry 3 runs.

We'll battle to a respectable 1-0 defeat - only to then become embroiled in further controversy when we dare question as to why VAR failed to intervene when the ref decides not to award a penalty for Kyle Walker knocking out CHO in the area with a sledgehammer.

Remember it well! Duncan McKenzie and George Lyall. Fantastic afternoon. We could have got to the final that year had it not been for the bloody Geordie thugs running on the pitch and kicking shit out of Dave Serella. Another case of us being screwed by the governing football bodies in favour of a "bigger club."
My very first Forest match.
Not a bad introduction!

Haaland is carrying some sort of injury and is a doubt for this, and City are playing tomorrow night as well.

They've not had more than 3/4 days' rest between games for a while now.

I'm not expecting anything, but I'm quietly optimistic an invigorated Forest can snatch something against them.

Well we’ve got nothing to lose on this one, so they should be relaxed and just go for it, they only beat us 2-0 at their place, albeit they had one sent off. You can almost guarantee we will get no help from officials though.

If some of our players are any more relaxed that they were v Everton, they will be sat on sun-loungers sipping cocktails and listening to ambient music on their MP3 players.

Oh, so its only Alvarez to worry about then?

At this stage I'm less worried about the potential scoreline than how many decisions go against us.

"My word! Foden just shoots wide with Sels beaten. That was close. Goal kick to Manchester City."

Or like the goal kick they got last weekend where VAR decided Grealish's handball wasn't intentional but ref didn't give a corner.

If those of us watching on TV are really lucky then Sky will put Peter Dreary on commentary.

'And that's a hat trick for VAR!'
