The Tavares sub I can see the logic of, even if it wasn't effective and probably left too late to ever be so

And whilst Origi is shit and offers nothing, with Awoniyi and Elanga injured Nuno doesn't really have any other option does he? Ribiero I guess the only one
Ribeiro in his previous brief appearance showed he had pace and enthusiasm. Today he showed he can play - that through ball for Origi to squander was a beauty. Giving the lad a couple of minutes every 6 or 7 games is really poor from Nuno, especially when he repeatedly plays a misfiring Origi instead

Watched the game on Premier Sports.

A point isn't a good result, but it's a positive point all the same. The performance was, again, excellent in parts, but lacking the cutting edge. Sels gifting them their 2nd just shows nobody is infallible when you're down at the bottom. So many players actually had very good games. Special mention to MGW and Danillo, who were both excellent. The lad Reyna had a decent run out to boot.

The important thing is that we go into Everton with confidence from today. That game is equally as winnable but another point is positive. Luton, despite what we think won't win all their remaining home games.

Keep picking up points, Forest. It'll go to the wire but we're better than Luton. Just keep our noses ahead of them.

I'd definitely say there's a case for this

But then who do you bring on instead for Danilo today, Sangaré? Who has been equally as shit as Origi?

Guarantee you people would've had knives out for Nuno if he'd done that so he couldn't win really

The fact we now have so few viable options in these positions is down to incompetent recruiting at the end of the day

We can still fumble our way to safety. But as to the future if we haven't been able to manage our set piece vulnerability with the last two transfer windows, with 33 games played and with two coaches utilised, then I'm not seeing what this summer is going to miraculously do about it. The ongoing failure to resolve it seems to say more about our culture than just the problem itself.

Compared with the above Origi is a minor inconvenience. Although in most other jobs he'd be being walked off the premises carrying his stuff in a bin bag.

Next Sunday is winnable if we are who we believe we are. COYR.

Yeah, incredible how threadbare our PSR violating squad actually is.
I haven't had chance to see the academy games this season but don't we have anyone pushing through from there? What about Konate, or Gardner? On the evidence I'd suggest either of those should be ahead of Origi on the bench

I'm at a complete loss about our set pieces SJBW. I honestly don't know what is going on. There's been so many of them and all come with different issues.

The only thing I can say is a definitive issue from them is the lack of experienced leaders out there to organise and direct. Even if it's just to say "he's your man, do not let him go or run across the front of you otherwise I'm f***ing pinning you up in the changing room"!

Given Origi offers nothing there's very little to lose in sticking Gardner on the bench

He might not be any more effective but at least it'd be giving one of our youngsters some valuable experience

Really sorry to say it, that was rubbish. No spark at all bar the first 10 minutes and a little bit towards the end of the second. Nuno is no doubt a lovely bloke but needs to kick some backsides or we're going down without a whimper.

Ay? I thought they played well enough for the win tbh, clearly challenging for every ball and highly motivated and should have won it.

You can’t question Nuno tactics today

FFS stop looking for excuses
When the margins of us staying up are so fine because we are not too good yet we don't need these ridiculous decisions week in week out. If you decide to ref at a particular level (be that let itflow or stop everything) then make it that for BOTH teams.

If we were brilliant at the moment we could shrug off these biased/incompetent refs as we would still pick up enough points and have same level subs to come as our players are getting injured.... but we're not so it makes a MASSIVE DIFFERENCE.

I hope we are somehow still in the PL next season and that our team has improved enough that these ref performances don't make a difference.

I hope Elanga injury isn't due to the beating he got..... yes I'm pissed off...

Oh just got back from work

2-2
Not good
But it was alright. We deserved to win on points on my score card.
But we played some American with a famous dad - with predictable lack of movement down the right.

Nope, nothing Tricky that's going to genuinely challenge for places on the bench regularly. It'll be a few years yet for the academy to start reaping the benefits of Cat1 status first team age players. There's a few decent prospects but lower down but as mentioned on here before it will take a few years before we produce anything

An unpopular opinion, but I would argue that some of our defensive frailties and set-piece woes are down to having two very young and inexperienced centre backs. Bombing Niakate was a bad move by NES.
Niakhate wasn't exactly a rock back there, either.

Top of my shopping list if we stay up is a big horrible CB who just wants to head everything in the vicinity and bollocks anyone who doesn't attack the ball in the same way.

Thought we played well and wanted it, winning second balls etc, some good performances and I loved MGW winding up the freaks. Picking Origi based on experience is fine but ffs.. lol

There’s definite important improvements all over the pitch. Fingers crossed here on
We did play well, Sammy. To be honest, we've played well more often than not this season. There is a making of a solid Premier League team there. Hugely important we stay up this season. A few sensible additions in the Summer and this team could really kick on.

Have to disagree. 'spark' is difficult when you're at the bottom. But that performance and effort was anything but rubbish.

Please can someone explain to me how successive coaching teams, Nuno's & Cooper's have been unable to improve our set piece defending which is one of the basics of the game & it is this particular fallibility which is going to send us down. Surely any decent coach should be able to improve this area of the game, after all most corners etc are predictable & therefore should be easy to plan for. I just don't get it

Ok trying not to talk about the twat in black now....

I liked most of what I saw today, despite missing Elanga we still managed some attacking intent, there were lovely tikky takky passing, some great through passes, goalline clearance header from Murillo, great header from MGW, good goal from Danillo, great to see someone other than MGW taking corners, Rib was only on for a very short period but should be on ahead of for instance Origi. I felt everyone was energetic and really trying. We still got a point and stayed ahead of Luton.

However we had our defensive brainfarts again, Origi's end product is unchanged, a real shame after Wood bust a gut to get there, and we didn't make enough of our chances.

I do still think we are going to make it (after us Forest fans have had numerous heart attacks) but we are going to have to ensure that we score at least 3 goals (if not 4) to make up for our defensive mistakes and the refs mistake (damn I wasn't supposed to mention them anymore)...

Come on Forest, pick yourself up again, play with the same passion and attacking intent and we will stay up...
