I also went to Brighton in 1980 (but the previous season in March). We lost 1-0 in very windyI went to the Brighton match in a beer haze on a bright day in 1980. We won 1-0.

To be fair,I did have a pre-match drink or two in Hove but at least I can remember the game!At least you left it until after the match. I stayed overtime in the hotel bar in Eastbourne the night before, and can only remember one thing from the match.
Walking away after the match with the Seagulls crowd, wearing my colours, and wearing a huge smug grin.
I do recall the good people were displeased, and quite abusive

Was that the game they scored a 30 yarder past Shilton in the last minute?I also went to Brighton in 1980 (but the previous season in March). We lost 1-0 in very windy
conditions-which meant the Seagulls had completed the double over us (having ended our
two and a half year unbeaten home league run earlier in the season).
To make matters worse,I arrived back in Nottingham in the early hours of Sunday morning
after visiting several hostelries in London on the way back.
Yes-that’s the one.Was that the game they scored a 30 yarder past Shilton in the last minute?
I love a pint of Harvey's bitter, me.Local brewer Harveys normally has a beer truck outside the ground.
One of my favourite beers,Rocka.I love a pint of Harvey's bitter, me.
Aye, same here Cloughie. One of my favourite beers,Rocka.
I think that was Tony Woodcocks last game for us. It had already been announced that he was leaving (for Cologne) which was unusual at the time. Cloughy subbed him at half time!Im still grieving the home record gone with a 0-1 and I reckon Robbo missed a penalty then.
First one I remember Robbo missing, was one against Derby, although he had missed one or two before Cloughie took over.He dint miss many !

Yes,it was Woodcock’s last game.We never really replaced him properly and Robertson (in my opinion) wasn’t as effective without him.I think that was Tony Woodcocks last game for us. Ian Storey Moore missed a penalty at home to Derby 1971/72 seasonI’m not sure Robbo was the penalty taker before Cloughie took over,Rocka-I remember
George Lyall missing a couple.
I think Robbo missed 2 penalties in the same game in Clough’s first full season (although he
scored from a rebound from one as we lost 1-2 at home to Hull).
Terry Curran took over duties from the spot for a while.
Indeed he did,Duncan.Ian Storey Moore missed a penalty at home to Derby 1971/72 season
Take it they have a strong team out too
