Thankfully not much time to dwell on that abysmal performance against Luton.
Forest next up who have the benefit of having played and won at Stoke Friday night to take top slot for 16 hours.
They are no great shakes but no weak links either. Nothing exceptional apart from being the dirtiest team I have seen in ages. The niggling fouls come thick and fast stopping the opposition from playing so if we don't have a decent ref on Tuesday, a red card from frustration for one of our players has to be on the cards....
Stoke scored twice by pressing hard up field. Forest simply had to wait for the Stoke unforced errors of which there were at least 30. In truth, they only made the balls ups in Stoke's area count- a more ruthless side would have run up a cricket score.
Another lethargic outing like today will cost us heavily. No forecast because this is Rovers- play like drains and we lose, play to our potential and we win. No idea how motivated we will be.
7-1 to us, just like the old days.
As somebody else said Forest will come fancying their chances so maybe it'll be a more open game. We've no idea how to break down teams that " park the bus " but we do better against teams who come to play.
I'm going another 1-2 loss.
Just had a nosey on a Forest forum about Tuesdays game. One poster, after watching the Luton highlights,*seems*to think we are susceptible to crosses and headers and says that's a plus point of their game. Well if he has spotted that, I'm fairly sure the forest coaching staff have too.
Tough game can see a draw but we do owe forest from last season when they cheated through Lolley to nick a point at Ewood.
Funny how Mowbary always seems to drop the young uns.* Bit like he doesn't have the gonads to tell the more senior players they were shit so he's dropping them.* Easier for him to tell the younger ones.* Pussy, bit like his defenders.
If you’re going to criticise our manager could you at least spell his name correctly!
You have called him Mowbary in your last 4 posts.
This will be interesting. On paper a very attacking line up tonight with pace on the wings and the experience of DG to lay the ball off.
Poor team, no balance whatsoever.
Why isn't Rothwell starting? Nonsense playing Armstrong and Gallagher wide. Forest haven't lost away this season. Think that record will still be intact at 10pm.
Ben Brerton is a special guest on the commentary tonight, making up for his inability to score goals with a serious talent for football clichés.
The most expensive commentator in history.
But John Motson was a better striker.
Shit me, nearly 1 down already. Couldn't defend a cross, quelle surprise.
Lucky to be level at the moment.
Decent start here after we survived a hairy couple of minutes at kick off.
21 and 19 look good players for them constantly moving and causing trouble.
Fairly solid half after very nearly going behind in the first minute.
Poor game really, but I think we’ve been the better side. Forest just looking to counter. A few half chances but neither side is very entertaining.
Forest don't seem much.
No atmosphere, awful football and all round depressing.
Sign of a poor game when the current ifollow commentary consists of talking about fortnite and fifa games.
Get in.
Lovely ball from Dack who had been the worst player on the pitch.
For f*** sake.
That didn't last long.
A *goal probably undeserved slightly cancelled out immediately, such is life.
Poor keeping.
Forest will defiantly win this now. O well.
Some goal from Lolley to be fair.
Sums our set plays up, we have a corner and 6 seconds later it’s back with our keeper without Forest touching the ball.
Forrest have been useless, this league is there for the taking but our boring ass manager wont let us go for it aaaargh.
We were*the better team, deserved to win. Travis and Downing ran the game.
That was a frustrating 90 minutes. The 3 points were there for the taking.
21 shots, 6 on target. Similar to weekend. Stating the obvious but we need a striker.
Our gaffer has spunked £12 million on two absolute duds.
For the second game in a row, we have seen a robbery at ewood park. No idea how Luton took three points off us*and no idea how Forest have gone away with a point. Completely dominated both games.
We should have picked up 6 easy points against these and Luton.
Forest is an easy game? Give your head a wobble. The hyperbole on this forum is ridiculous.
Of course it was a winnable game. They were completely bang average.*
Every game at home in the Championship is winnable. I’d expect 3 points against all bar Leeds, Fulham and West Brom to be honest.
Forest have played two of those away already, drew with Leeds and beat Fulham.
Forest rarely offered any threat and had no control over the game.
Our goal was well worked but ultimately fortunate. Forest’s was a great strike.
We barely create**a chance of any note. Play around with it in non dangerous areas , the ball doesn’t get to Dack or Graham early enough making us easy to play against . Two game where visiting keepers have had cigars on for 90 minutes.
Draw was a fair result, not because neither team deserved to lose but because neither team deserved to win.
If the forest that battered Stoke would have turned up to play they would have hammered us, thing is it was a stifled performance from both teams, midfield cluttered and little by way of creative football in the first half. I think it was both teams not willing to give and not willing to concede.
Forest were there for the taking, they came set up defensively, Carvalho dropped for a slightly more conservative selection, and they were running the clock down at the end.
Two boring teams, playing out a boring draw.
