Went 2-0 down early doors and made two first half substitutions to get back in the game and take a point.

Can you imagine CH making first half tactical subs and going for it, not scoring once but twice?

Last three games they've scored 3, 3 and 2.

How I miss goals.
Not good enough for us though, we go to games to see clean sheets or some other bullshit apparently.

He had a team that finished GD above relegation and was given a whole 6m to turn us into champions and by December we hadn't won the league, nothing short of disgraceful

And that's 6m from the 15m sale of his top goalscorer too. I don't know many managers who would improve their league position when losing a 14 goal forward the year before for 15m, and only having a 2m one replace him :dunno:

The way our top brass actively handicap managers, then expect them to get us promoted is ridiculous.

Manager who loses too many games.....takes shit relegation bound side to 2nd and remains unbeaten, whilst balancing the books

Even if the tail off later this season, it's clear to see his way was the right way, and those who sacked him knew far less about both football and football finances than Warbs did.

It's like watching Sliding Doors and our bright future is in West London mocking us as we descend deeper into the shit with each passing week

Didn't realize, but he signed a new contract at QPR around a month ago...

https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/mark-warburton-agrees-new-qpr-deal-050821/

Looks like sticking with him through the bad runs they had is paying off so far, on and off the pitch.

Suits him there though. Though they have been in the PL they don't have the backing as much of owners and recently know the issues of spaffing cash up the wall on shit players and getting relegated then having all the mess to deal with.

The expectation from the fan base is less and presumably from the owners too, when he was here the season after we had stayed up on GD the expectation was still the play offs and that noose has been hung around many managers' necks since then, when in reality we are way off that target.

His approach does take time and we weren't willing to give it. It's a massive development taking on younger players and cheap experienced ones and trying to make a team out of them, he managed it at Brentca but what people don't realise there is he worked for the club already when Rosler was manager and stepped into that knowing the players and the setup as well as anyone else would. And let's be fair getting Rangers up wasn't exactly going to be difficult. Here we had nothing for him to build on because fazza had shafted it and no decent defenders but in his summer transfer window he did little to address that either. After a year literally the signs still weren't there.

I was watching a documentary behind the scenes with QPR when they got Colin and ended up promoted, the guys are good owners and supportive of the managers generally and it shows. I think generally speaking we are not the most patient of fans or a club as a whole and our expectations of where the club actually is don't really fit with where we would like it to be or think it is. Whether we stick with CH and allow him to build it with DM or allow DM to bring in his own model and managers we have to let it be put in place and accept it won't yield instant results but trust the process. Which is what QPR are doing.

It helps that Mark has been allowed to sign players like Austin and Dykes and they backed him up with a very promising defender in Rob Dickie who made the step up well, I think we were interested and ended up with McKenna who's probably about par with Dickie really.

Anyone else see the irony in Warburton signing a defender we were interested in and now being top of the table whilst we're bottom?

Well their defence is better than it was but still a bit cack.

Ours wasn't too bad last season especially once Figs and Christie had stopped giving goals to the opposition (in the former case, because he wasn't in the team). We would probably be similar with Worrall/Dickie as opposed to Worrall/McKenna anyway and we still have Ely (no idea how good he is though) and Mbe Soh in the squad so i'm not sure he would make much difference to us.

But he is obviously helped by the fact he has Austin and Dykes as well as that midget Chair in attack whereas we have Lewis Grabban and Lyle Taylor. He's an attack-minded manager anyway and that attack will always get you goals.

Put him in this squad and we'd be getting tonked 3-4 every week because he won't protect the defence and the attack is just useless.

He had a side with a decent attack here that included the likes of Fanny McKay, Cumdog Millionaire and a coked-up Daryl Murphy. If he could get a tune out of those, then a proven Championship forward like Grabban along with promising youngsters Johnson, Mighten and Carvalho would be more than enough. If his side at the time had even a half-decent keeper like de Vries, Darlow or Samba in the net then it would have looked significantly stronger at the back, in my opinion.

We don't know how good this squad is if it's given licence to go out and attack though.

What this team needs is a licence... a licence to thrill.

Talksport and a few other places reporting Warburton is set to be sacked by QPR. Their form has gone off a cliff since the start of Feb, but I thought he’d done a decent job there overall and they are still only 3 points off the play offs. Hadn’t realised he’d been there for 3 years though.

Done well there but their tail off in form will get folks backs up naturally.

Also don't think it'll help his cause that Forest, Sheff Utd and Middleborough all have changed managers and all three are above them now with a much better chance of getting top six than QPR.

Fine margins...

He’s shite. He could manage a club for a decade and would still leak goals like f***.

You have to go down to Swansea in 16th to find teams that have conceded more, even Derby have conceded less.

Glad we didn't stick with him. Worth waiting for Cooper.

Warburton is good at building up clubs but seems unable to take them beyond a certain level and it seems QPR are starting to get itchy feet and wanting to gamble again. But with FFP to take into consideration, they will have a job finding another Wilder or Coops for themselves so let's see if they know what they are doing....

They should keep him, he has delivered progression with their style and results hasn't he? Also, his approach doesn't seem to cost much in terms of signings.

Rob Dickie was a good move for them as he's turned into a solid defender at this level.

Their injury list is scary though especially keepers. They'd already lost their first team keepers before getting Marshall in as an emergency signing who of course got injured against us, Westwood is quality at this level but because they could bring him in he hadn't been playing for a while and might have been all they could get.

They don't really leak goals like a sieve like 4-5 every match, just don't keep many clean sheets, and the 1/2 against usually add up if it's every time.

He has spent way more than people think at QPR. That is not including this year either where they got some players on big money.

People may judge it as harsh but it always goes the same way with MW. His ethos and idea is good, execution is always pretty poor and personal skills are next to none.

He is stuck in that 2013 era of football, where passing football was become the status quo but it's moved on from him now and it's all about speed.

Oh yeah, it's a myth he does it on a shoestring but largely speaking he's a manager who doesn't need to throw money at a squad because they improve players.

Can't think the likes of Dickie, Dykes, Austin, Chair, Willock, Adomah would be shoestring either in terms of signing them or their wages.

Assuming he still has Davie Weir with him, and noting that when MW did play he was a right back too, it seems odd that a top defender can't get a defence organised - though saying that, this applies to a few (Psycho and Wenger were defenders) and some of the more defensive managers (Clough and Ferguson) were strikers. (Calling them defensive, in the sense they knew the importance of building on a solid defence, as opposed to style)

They've never looked a bad side though really, just have a slightly soft underbelly in defence which the better attacks can usually pour through, but they can outscore a lot.

It's only when they come across the teams they can't outscore which becomes an issue and that's where they need that tighter defence.

He's fine if you want a few years of treading water in mid-table while you rebalance the squad, but he's completely incapable of coaching a team that can defend, and for that he will never get a team promoted.

Not everyone can be Steve Cooper.
