Admittedly that is also a factor and the club should be on top of that stuff, it's mad that a professional footballer who has 24/7 access to doctors, physios, dietitians, fitness coaches etc. can be allowed to put that much extra weight on, injured or not.You know it's almost as if people with physical injuries can't exercise as much

What I do accept though is that if he's not properly in shape, for whatever reason, he probably shouldn't be starting games
And quite possibly the best player of this generation.I‘m not having you lot dissing Reidy.
Reidy was in shape.
Round is a shape, isn’t it?
The reason this has hit a nerve with me a bit is because my uncle had thyroid problems which he managed pretty well and didn't put on any weight until he broke his leg in a car accident, at which time he piled on stones and was pretty unrecognisable after only about six months
Even after the cast came off and he was back running he could never get up the intensity to get the weight off and suffered mentally as a result
I know people like to look at someone and go "you've put on weight, just eat less and go exercise" but it's no way as simple as that
Sorry to hear that mate and that's why I said in my first post if he has a hormone problem then it's out of his control and he has my sympathy but at the same time if he does there's no way he should be playing professional football at the moment.
How do you know there isn't?
Personally I'd wait until I knew what the situation is before coming out with that last sentence.

When I first saw Reidy as a Youngster playing for the Reserves, and watched him drop his shoulder and glide past defenders he reminded me very much of Robbo.I‘m not having you lot dissing Reidy.

Absolutely. Any frustration I had with him today was not directed at him, or his abilities. But the fact we threw him in when he clearly shouldn’t have been out there.
Either way, with Krovinovic having signed, I suspect we won't be seeing much of Freeman in the team. Another singing lauded by some (for years in fact) that has been a huge disappointment.
Honest hat on, no.Regardless of any weight issues he may or (more likely in my opinion) may not have, you do know why Freeman has been absent for the last couple of months....don't you??
Looked fairly mobile to me.
Andy Reid was tubby, Robbo too - not always such a problem.
I'm hoping he gets fit enough to guide us to safety.
Even when Reid (& Tomlin more recently) looked like they were carrying a bit extra they still had that bit of sharpness in tight spaces. They weren't gonna sprint past a full back over 25 yards but they could open up a yard or two to work the ball. Yesterday, Freeman moved like he was piggy-backing another fat lad on his back.
Honest hat on, no.
If you’ve got a player who is an accomplished passer of the football, they don’t need the pace of Usain Bolt, because they make the ball do the work, as all great players do.
Robbo and Reidy were two players who could drop a ball onto a team-mate‘s instep from great distance. Forest don’t have that kind of Player anymore, Reidy himself was probably the last one.
Such players, especially at Championship Level, are at a premium. So it goes with pacy players as well, who can stretch an opposing side and create space for others.
Nathan Tyson was never the most technically gifted footballer but he had lightning pace that defenders struggled to cope with, and it allowed him to drag them about and create space for others.
Forest don’t have Team Speed, and they don’t have any really good passers either, which negates completely two very useful attacking options.
As a result, the side are one-paced, pedestrian, and so, so, easy to play against.
