1957 was the year of my first match at the CG, watching that side OMR. Sixty years next September to be exact.

And finished third. It's an interesting run.

You have to go back to 1940s to find a decade where Forest didn't finish top three during a season with a year ending in 7.

Honestly, there is no way the universe doesn't make Forest have a good season once or twice a decade just because it thinks we suit the number seven. There is no other explanation left. Equally, there is no logical reason why it would stop now.

Even if we haven't already played at Wembley in the FA Cup semis by April, we can all go off on our summer hols in the knowledge that as a bare minimum we're finishing third next season.

This season I'll settle for beating the drop, but this time next year Rodders, we could be on our way to being multi-millionaires (via promotion).

Our current number 7 is....

Matty Fryatt.

Looks like it's jinxed lol - unless the good news in 2017 is that we finally get rid of the number 7

Fair play for the positive mixing and matching (re: 1997 for example)..... but we could do the same for 1977 and add the League Championship and League Cup!

The are two seasons spanning every calendar year and at least one of them in the year ending in seven is a great one. If the first five months of the year are medicore to poor, it only serves as a notification that the last five months are GUARANTEED to be all-conquering.

This sequence can be broken by a decade in which the world is at war. So that where we stand at the start of 2017. Promotion or World War III.

There's something in betting called the "due factor", when by chance or design things fall into place. That's definitely something which is on the cards for us, and the right takeover could start this rolling this year.

It may have already started with us avoiding the terrorist Greeks and fairly wank Pedro. The universes great design shaping things out of our control.
