I was listening to a decent podcast on the Messi/MLS hookup the other day.

It got me thinking about when Pele, Beat and Cruyff went to the MLS. At the time, I was quite young but also very aware of that move. Not in detail, perhaps, but aware nonetheless.

I realise now that what I thought back then was news was actually marketing. Of course, when Beckham joined LA Galaxy, I knew that was marketing. We're about to go through that again, with next level reach.

Sadly, I think resistance is futile. Global football is entering a new period, MLSsi is part of that.
