Much as I hate Leeds this could have been us, so for that I do feel sorry for my fellow Football fans. Not all Leeds fans are twats.

I've only scanned the article, but it seems this whole premise is based on the fact the assets are classed as 'held for sale'.

That doesn't actually mean they're looking for a buyer. It's an IFRS position, I think IFRS 5. There are multiple criteria, but actualyl physically looking to sell within 12 months is only one of them.

That could have been in a foreign language to me:LOL:

It's basically an accounting term that limits depreciation exposure on an asset - namely as they're 'held for sale' at the price quoted.

However, there are multiple reasons you can classify an asset in such a way, and looking for a sale within 12 months is only one of about 6 reasons. I'd need to look up the other reasons as I can't think of them off the top of my head!

It's not a great thing to appear on their financial statement, but doens't necessarily mean they're selling up quicksharp.

Actually, I've just re-read it closely and it seems that the GFH bloke is saying they're looking to offload 30% of the business at least.

Guess they had no cash, and gambled on the current squad being Premier League capable.

And they have realised that promotion isn't going to happen this season.

Bit ominous for old Colin. He'll be gone at the end of the season I think.

Has he singed yet?
I think that would've been the case regardless, what with their failure to trouble the top six and all.

He did say he would resign if there was no promotion or play offs (I think)

I thought warnock was going anyway? I have a couple of friends who support Leeds and they expect him to go. I assumed it was decided.

Regarding investing in Leeds. If I was an advisor (without my red glasses on of course) to a multi billionaire foreigner who wanted to buy a English football club in terms of future potential Leeds would be it. As much as I hate them they do have huge huge potential and I cannot believe they haven't been snapped up by now.

Bates was the reason why they'd not been snapped up.

At least that obstacle has been removed now.

I'm not quite sure it has, he definitely still has an involvement with the club.

It looks to me that they bought into the club, hoping they'd get promotion this season, and then would have sold for a big profit. But instead they don't want to hang around and are still trying to make a profit. Talking of how they paid a 'bargain' price.

They've had more owners than old Cortina

I thought he was out of contract at the end of the season and currently in the "Luke Chambers" situation

Nobody at the club or the fans want him any more, and he thinks he can go on to bigger things...

Weren't GFH one of the potential buyers of Forest?
Bullet dodged.

Maybe Leeds are just too big for them?
