As an alumnus of Exeter Uni, and a pal of their chairman (Taggy) who was also there when i was, I like to keep an eye on how the Grecians are doing.
They had an excellent away win at Wigan making 4 wins from the last 5, and moving them up to 13th in L1.
Not bad for a club that was brought back from the brink by their fans forming a supporters trust that own the club.
They rely on "add-ons" from selling Ollie Watkins a few seasons ago.
When on a reunion visit a couple of years ago, Taggy treated us to a stadium tour, and a morning at their training round at the Cat & Fiddle (where I played when a student down there).
Come on you Grecians!
Especially on Tuesday night when they entertain Derby.

As a learned chap, Cap'n, why are they called the Grecians? The fans I spoke to down there had no idea.

Good question.
The answer is that before becoming Exeter city F.C., the club was called St Sidwell's F.C. (St Sidwell being a local martyr back in real olden times, even before thee and me were born, and Adam was only just into wearing a fig leaf).
Back in the 18th century there was a re-enactment of the Siege of Troy as part of some Exonian celebrations.
The residents of St Sidwell's Street played the Greeks in that re-enactment.
When the locals formed their st Sidwell football club, they adopted the nickname of the Grecians.
When St Sidwells FC became Exeter City, the nickname was retained.

Mansfield are 4-0 up against Harrogate and it's not even half-time. Harrogate were 7th at the start of the match.

What a great job Nigel Clough is doing.
Would be great to see them play Derby next season. 5-0 up now!

I was living in Exeter in our promotion season and Exeter got promoted too.
It was an incredible year

Think at one point they were 23 games unbeaten possibly more.
The city was loving it
