Went to see County again yesterday.
Seven goal thriller. Can’t complain at £22.
They did their best to throw it away though at the beginning of the second half as Forest Green were well on top. Deeney almost got four but headed against the bar late on.
If I were Luke Williams, the one area I’d look at strengthening in January would be in defensive areas. I admire the confidence they have in wanting to play out from the back but on a couple of occasions in the first half they they nearly caught themselves out.
Saying that though, they play football in the right way. The lad Crowley is a great little player at League Two level, and Jodie Jones would still be playing higher if he’d not suffered such bad injuries back in his championship days at Coventry.
The fourth goal was a great counter attack and once McGoldrick was played through there was no doubt it was ending anywhere other than the back of the net.

4-1 up now. Nigel Clough is building something very nicely at Field Mill.
In the top 4 divisions, after just under a third of the season gone, only Arsenal, Spurs, Portsmouth and Mansfield are unbeaten.

Notts County and Wrexham were miles ahead of others last season in the National League (old conference).
In League 2 their current league positions are 2nd and 3rd respectively.
It was touch and go who would finish as champions last season.
One of those teams almost didn't make it, which would have been such a shame because they are clearly proving their quality in a better league.
Is it time to make it 2 teams promoted automatically from the National League and the rest to fight it out in the playoffs? I've never liked the fact we are always limiting teams making it into football league. Almost as if you have to get that winning lottery ticket. Or else, never mind.
