Was linked earlier in the window and now we've supposedly had a fresh bid rejected:

Was wondering what happened to this link the other day. If we get this chap and Dominguez then you'd imagine at least two of Freuler, LOB and Kouyate are off.

If Oly want him, they should sign him. Financially and in terms of squad bloat we are in no position to be doing other teams favours anymore.

If he isn't going to play for Forest this season, we shouldn't be signing him. Simple as that.
That’s not how football clubs operate anymore.

I think we’ve bid 3mil for him. Small change irrespective of the plan for him.
£3m isn't small change. Especially for a club that is allegedly sailing close to the sun with regards to FFP. Plus with Bowler and Hwang, it's closer to £10m we've spent on players for Olympiacos, not including wages.

Allegedly being the apt word. This place loves to pick and choose its moment to back up discussions with facts.😂

I disagree with your take. It would be a very low risk investment with a potentially solid return, on what would be a minimal upfront outlay. If it requires a year elsewhere to gauge that, so be it.

However, my statement was a guess that may or may not be the plan, if indeed we have actually bid for him in the first place😂

Whether the reports of us being close to FFP limits are true or not, its not a healthy (or normal) thing for a club like us to be spending millions of pounds on players for another club. And if the fee is as small and insignificant as you make out, then why shouldn't Olympiacos pay for him if they want him?

Given that the lad is in his mid-20s, if he isn't ready to play for us now then he isn't going to be in a years time after playing in the Greek league either.

If we signed him and loaned him to Olympiacos, it'd be nothing more than another multi-million pound favour for Olympiacos with no benefit to Forest. Just like Hwang and Bowler last year.

I would say the relationship between us and Olympiacos is extremely beneficial to us. It’s naive to think otherwise. I think we both benefit from a collaborative recruitment approach. These type of moves are a byproduct of that relationship.

Not really seeing how the Hwang and Bowler deals benefit us in anyway, nor would signing Kangwa for millions of pounds and loaning him out to them (with him likely never playing for Forest after that). These types of deals only benefit one party, and it certainly isn't Nottingham Forest.

I'm not sure targeting players bound for AFCON 23 is a great idea, we're already set to loose a few players

Boly - Ivory Coast
Aina, Awoniyi, Dennis - Ngeria
Niakhate, Kouyate - Senegal

6 players possibly going already, 3 of which are nailed on starters

You don’t seem to understand my wider point at all so I’ll leave it there👍
