Plot twist, Bowler goes to Milwall as a replacement for Wallace, as Derby have found a way to sign Wallace for £9m without actually paying it.

Only after we appeal and wait three days, confident that we got the fax through at 11:00 but it was actually 11:08 and our fax machine's red LED numbers were broken.

Big disappointment this -- would have made a real difference and also most probably risen in value. At least in the short term, hard to see the other two making anything like the same impact.
I think, realistically, if we were to really go for promotion, we needed Bowler or Wallace.

Whilst it's a bit disappointing not to get a winger, we can't be too churlish about the club failing to sign other clubs' best players when we've just turned down a reported £20m for one of our academy lads.

I think £3m was too much to be honest, same goes with Wallace. We probably won't sign either in the summer which is what it is but I have to say, neither Blackpool or Millwall are economic powerhouses so turning down pretty good money for their players is a brave move.
