I do think that Worrall is often the defender that makes the mistake, but he's still learning his trade. And as long as we support him with a strong line, he'll only get better. I like his attitude. We need more players like this.

Think Worrall has a decent future ahead of him, just wish he was a couple inches taller because he's not quite got the height to win aerial battles every single time.
Anticipation and positioning will improve with time at this level, as will his 'smarts' (a quick shove here and there before the through ball is played to knock the onrushing attacker slightly off balance). Thing he has to realise is that being a good centre back at this level isn't about last ditch tackles or being a creative ball player, it's simply about doing the basics right - mark tight, win headers, hold position well. Look around this league at other teams choice of centre back, none really stand out as match winners in their own right, they're just steady for the most part.

Add to that the bloke who will be coaching Worrall, David Weir. He was never quick but played professionally until he was 41. If you're clever enough you don't need it as much in the legs.

The kid's brave. Yes, in the traditional sense, that he will put his body on the line and make a crunching tackle where needed. But more than that he's brave on the ball. Always willing to get the ball from a teammate, even in difficult positions, and often the player at the back from whom good moves originate. For a youngster that is especially impressive and his mistake last week at QPR didn't seem to faze him. A big solid CB who is also confident on the ball doesn't come along that often so we should appreciate what we've got. Could be a fixture at CB for a long time.

I'd criticised him over the last few games for being too error prone and making so many mistakes. I felt our fans shielded him from the blame due to his age and the fact he came from the academy, where as I thought he should take responsibility if he's on the pitch.
Against Ipswich he was excellent, really put a great shift in. I wonder if he's sort of like Lascelles was, and just plays better when he has a real experienced pairing with him. Thought our formation yesterday was spot on, and definitely suited Worrall.

He's young and still getting used to playing at this level, so he will play better when he has settled, experienced player next to him. It will speed up his learning and he'll develop much quicker as a result. Jack Hobbs would have been perfect if he wasn't make from paper mache.

Hope somebody is with him all the time hes in a foreign country.... with his ability to constantly make poor decisions at vital times i worry for the kids safety.

Lascelles was a monster next to Hobbs, but when you took Hobbs away Lascelles was mediocre at best.

What about Mancienne making a hash of 4 or 5 clearances in one half, passing it 5 yards to players under pressure, giving it away in our half, refusing to lump a ball clear when under pressure. Him and Fox not winning headers from corners against QPR, Reading and Blackburn etc (teams who specifically aimed long balls away from Worrall knowing he was the taller player). Worrall's missed a couple of aimless, bouncing punts forward, that's it. The other players are far more experienced yet make far more basic errors, including Danny the Relevation and his Magic Wand.

People aint offering virtual reach rounds for Foxs or MMs performances.... they are below average to poor championship footballers where joe eventually will be if he improves.

Can't say I've seen anybody going over the top for Worrall myself. He's a young man who has acquitted himself very well in a tough situation after being thrown in the deep end.
