Didn't know where else to post this. He is on fantasy football club doing his best XI, will be on very shortly! Think it's on sky one as well.

The ex-West Ham player who Forest were rumoured to sign after his injuries in on in the studio now!

Maybe Robbo has the slot where he's just interviewed for his XI though (not sure if it's been on but I'm leaving it on in case not - thanks for the tip!).

Jack Collison is who it is (forgot his name for a minute lol!).

I saw Gary Mabbutt's XI on a replay package recently. Pretty attacking to say the least, and including both Maradona and Pele (the latter not in his peak when Mabbutt played with him though).

3-1-3-1-2
Clemence; Gough, Butcher, Pearce; Robson; Ardiles, Maradona, Hoddle; Gascoigne; Klinsmann, Pele.

That was really good. Some interesting comments about the Forest back 4 being told to push up 5 yards to compress the pitch and stuff like that.

Bit harsh on McGovern perhaps, as he stuck Souness in there as the only non-Forest player (no Dalglish for example). He also mentioned Withe up front but said Birtles did a bit more off the ball etc. He couldn't pick a left back or left CM out of his two options, and I guess he was thinking of Needham in CD too but didn't mention him as such:
4-4-2
Shilton; Anderson, Burns, Lloyd, Clark/Barrett; O'Neill, Souness, Bowyer/A.Gemmill, Storey-Moore; Birtles, Woodcock.

What a side that would be!

Looks an excellent side. I doubt we've ever had a better striker parthership than Woodcock and Birtles.

Fitzcarraldo

Ian Storey-Moore
Souness was a grade A c**t but he could play a bit.

Actually the current Leicester side remind me a bit of that Forest team. Think Vardy, Mahrez and Drinkwater for Woodcock, Robbo and McGovern for instance.

Can't remember the last time I saw a Forest side do that
I found it interesting, in that Forest were always seen as a quality footballing side but one that liked to soak up pressure and hit on the counter too. Wheras the Dutch in the 70's, or recent Barcelona, are obviously known for the defence pushing up in an attempt to help regain possession.

So the fact Clough was instructing them to do that at times helps show he wasn't asking his team just to sit back and play deep, especially during home games (even if counters would still be used effectively, which is a sign of a quality side I think). It was two banks of four when defending (Robertson also talks about helping out the left back, even though he couldn't tackle his granny) but not a bunker defence/central midfield as such I'd say.

To me, that's just playing football normally. You get back in position and defend, you win the ball and attack. Lose it, you get back again. I think that's why we were so good and that's why Leicester are good now.

Fortunately i am old enough to remember the Forest side of the 70's and 80's and the Leicester trio are not fit to lace the boots of the Forest boys.
Mahrez reminds you of Robbo.......behave!

You're a bit tough aren't you. I said they remind me a bit of the Forest side which I remember with joy. Just a similarity, that's all.
