In all seriousness, if this rumour has truth in it, it's good to hear we're looking in the right places.
Some players just don't click early on in their careers, and then suddenly remember where the back of the net is.
It's this kind of risk we better become accustomed to. Better risks than throwing £30k each on Djebbour and Abdoun and hoping they stick isn't it?
Signing a squad full of wank isn't the best route to financial success either
We'll see how he does like and the situation we're in it's understandable. It's just that situation was entirely avoidable if we'd not sacked several managers over several seasons like some of us kept saying.
All we've done is sign a squad full of wank for the last 10 years.
I would much rather see a John Akinde at my club than a Chuba Akpom, call me mad if you want.
We need players grateful to be at Forest. Wanting to prove a point. Akinde could be our Rickie Lambert for all we know, yet there'll be people reading this thread laughing at the rumour.
If we'd signed more lower league players over the past few years we'd be better off financially, and probably league table wise too.
A good chunk of this squad would piss top 6 (as they were doing last season) if the club cultivated them right.
I agree about Akpom, I see the sense in Akinde, but players like Chambers, Lansbury, Lascelles etc. just need the right setup and right manager.
And you were the one saying these players were "top 2" material last year!
Give over, we've signed some good players over the years. Folk just can't get their head round the fact that they don't give a f*** after 3 seasons of constant chop-change, and watching all their hard work flushed away.

Didn't he score a goal against Oxford in the league cup?....Freedman made the step up from Barnet himself.
Gary Bull did not.
