You have to laugh at that West Ham News slant. "We faked Forest into getting a player they wanted, at a cheaper price, so we could get someone totally different for more money....". Even if this rubbish had a sliver of truth, I'm sure player agents would be thrilled that their clients were wasting time being unwitting decoys 🤣

Think we were in for Mavropanos last summer weren't we? Though as far as I know he hasn't (mavro) panned out that well.
Not really - apparently Forest made an enquiry, but that’s about as far as it went, there was not (to my understanding, anyway) any formal bid from the Reds, and the player (a personal favourite of mine, as anyone who perused the „European Football“ thread could tell you) quite fancied a move to London.

The VfB have now sold three central defenders for a combined €65m, over the last couple of seasons, which is a tidy production line!

His eyebrows are too big, I don't trust him.

Apparently West Ham have pulled off a 'master stroke' in allowing us to sign Jota Silva for £13m instead of the £17.5m they were looking to pay, because it turns out it was just a distraction to enable them to sign Summerville from Leeds for £25m instead.

That is like something north Korea put out.

"Our glorious leader, in his infinite wisdom, has chosen to withhold our plentiful stockpiles of grain from the people deliberately, to demonstrate to the western imperialist scum our great resolve. We thank him for this opportunity to celebrate our fortitude in the face of great difficulty."

Ah yes, that’ll be the same North Korean leader who’s only ever played Golf once, and went round gaining a hole-in-one on every single hole, for a scorecard-busting round of 18?

Interesting one from his former coach:

"Although he's more used as a winger, I still believe his best position is as a striker – either operating as a target man or as a second forward.

"He has that killer instinct in the box and also a great aerial ability. However, because he's not very tall [he is 1.79m], other coaches prefer to have him wide."

Although should be noted he was the coach who played him there, so really he would say that (probably - ego often plays a part but maybe I'm doing him a disservice)

Haha, I'm willing to take the rest of it at face value, but "target man" . Give over coach

antonio is only 1.80m but he can jump like a salmon and can be considered as a target man , jota similarly can jump very well for his height , can hold up the ball from his highlights and is quite direct. A target man doesn't have to mean some big tall guy.

Antonio is also an absolute unit. I'm more than happy to eat my words on this in the future, but I can't see a world where Jota is a bonafide PL target man

Do you not see the resemblance between him and Drogba?

He kind of played the number 10 role as he had Elanga one side and CHO the other. Maybe you'd call it second striker. Either way he hardly had a touch, it had got pretty disjointed by that point. Won a header in midfield, I think, ran around and looked fairly hungry, but yeah that's about it. Not enough to go on.

Could be off to Oly on loan if we get Sosa and another winger according to Percy.

Forest completed the capture of Portuguese attacker Jota Silva last week, though it is understood there is a slim chance he could join Evangelos Marinakis’s Greek club Olympiacos on loan if Sosa and another winger arrive before the transfer deadline.

Will be interesting to see if he gets picked in the first few games then.

He played for Vitoria in the Conference League quaifiers, so if he playes for us he'll be 'club-tied' under the 2 club rule. Assuming qualifiers count as a 'proper' fixture.
