January 2024 Transfer Window

The EPL is probably very limited on what it can actually do here without subjecting itself to endless legal battles with oligarchs and sovereign wealth funds.

It's not that I'm unsympathetic to the moral argument, but it would be difficult to implement a legal framework.

And to be fair, the moral judgments are quite subjective.

Make owners accountable for the debt incurred while they're in charge.

Job done.

Jonny Otto has got to be worth a look at the reported 2.5m - played for Nuno at wolves iirc.
Yep put his name in here a while back, been injured and then in some trouble, but one of Nuno’s trusted players and may he’s been his record signing at the time he moved to Wolves, initially.

So according to the gossip on their forums he's said to have had a very serious bust-up with a younger player and coach in training and is now persona non grata, though some speculate that the club just want of him and so this story has leaked as part of that campaign - whatever the truth of it many fans say he's 30 soon and simply not half the player he was before his recent injuries so happy for him to just leave.

Yeah he’s certainly kicked off by all accounts. I’m not really invested either way in us bringing in him, however at that kind of money he represents a ‘Boly’ type signing.

That's my thinking really, in a position where I wouldn't say we were particularly strong too.

I’m inclined to move on from both Aurier and Aina. Neco give us cover at LB, but he’s always appeared quite ragged at LB. Toffolo is solid, but Otto would be a good pairing with Montiel, short term anyway. Bit more edge and dare I say nasty streak about that duo.

Yeah don't bother clicking people, it's nothing you haven't read on here or the athletic in the past few days.

A no-news story from Tom Looselips.

Also shoddy as it doesn’t state our adjusted loss allowance re our Championship seasons..

As FFP calculations are made over a three-year period ending on June 30, the Johnson deal will count towards the reckoning for 2021-2024, rather than 2020-23. Clubs are permitted to make financial losses of £105 million over a three-year period, with Forest reporting an annual loss of £45.6 million in their last accounts.

Can't see us doing anything significant now, as we won't want to piss the football authorities off.

Only thing I feel like we really need is a good keeper on loan, I feel like we've got enough to stay in the league as is and even if all the loans go back, aside from Montiel in the past two games, none have done anything anyway.

I remember when Chelsea couldn't spend money and then the next season they went and assembled the team that won them the Champions League. Not suggesting that is on the cards for us.

But January is a seller's market. No one wants to let anyone good go and make you overpay to do that.

worrall , mckenna and dennis at least seemed to have interest. the question would be, how much ? nothing for mckenna but captain calamity and dennis should be able to get a little bit of money.

McKenna will be off to Celtic for a few million, hopefully we can ship out Dennis too.

I can’t see us getting rid of Worrall as well what with Boly and Niakhate being busy with AFCON this month.
