Nottingham Forest have been linked with released Derby County forward Jamie Ward.

The 29-year-old was only officially released by the Reds' arch enemies yesterday, after four years with the club.

But it has not stopped the former Chesterfield and Sheffield United player being quickly linked with other clubs, including Forest.

Despite being under a transfer embargo, there would be nothing stopping the Reds signing Ward if they are interested in him because he will become a free agent when his contract at the iPro Stadium expires this summer.

If this has any element of truth in it .. it can only be because they intend to entertain bids for Antonio and believe Ward to be a cheap alternative ... lets be honest he's always been a pain to Forest whenever we have played against us !

Then tried to hurt Darlow under Mcleish. Thankfully Darlow must know how to handle nob heads, as he made Ward look a bit silly.

Apart from the fact he's a **** his best years are behind him and he's injury prone

We need to be getting rid of these type of players not recruiting them

Exactly the type of player we will end up with. Forest will never break the cycle it seems. Perhaps Hunter will be the one to break the cycle. I'm not holding my breath though.

Nigel Clough was shouting at them to play on. One or two of them looked like they would have put the ball out of play otherwise. Although maybe not Ward.
