Support for the lad, who has fashioned a great career after being laughed out of NFFC. Oh, how we love saying goodbye to our players.

And how they love stuffing our hollow laughter back down our throats.
Yeah Perchy has made the most of very limited ability with sheer hard work, if anyone had no right to be a premier league player it was him but it was testament to his attitude and commitment that he held is own in there.

Hopefully he makes a full recovery and has abit left in the tank to help the Stags

Disclaimer; as posted previously, I had a sort of nodding acquaintance with Perchy because he used to live in my old manor.

He’s a thoroughly decent guy, never refused a request for a photo or autograph or anything like that (Nathan Tyson and Julian Bennett were two other Forest men of the same vintage who were cut from similar cloth).

Yeah, he wasn’t the greatest technical player but he had heart, commitment and a fantastic work-ethic.

So, yeah, I’m a Perch fan, Forest Academy grad and Forest Captain.

Good luck to him, hopefully he can resume his career at the Stags without any issues.

Those you mentioned used to give me kit kats all year round when I delivered their papers and were the more lucrative to have around Christmas for tips too. I was riding about on a new BMX every year

Ruddington?

Yeah, I met him while he was jogging around the Country Park. Absolute top bloke.

Does not surprise me that Perchy has a fractured skull, it only surprises me it took long. He was a great player and never shirked a challenge, he out his head where it hurt and often got hurt in the process such was his desire to win the ball.

Genuinely hope he recovers and can continue playing.

Played some youth football with Perchy and believe it or not he was a proper goal scorer back then, probably a surprise to many considering the type of player he became in the professional game. Never sulked or moaned and was always working hard to improve in whatever role he was asked to fulfil, didn't surprise me at all to see him find his self a successful playing career despite fans often questioning his ability. Good lad is Perchy, great character

He once told me he started out as a striker, and I thought he was pulling my leg and didn’t believe him.

But you’re right, he’s a great lad. Always used to make a fuss of my daughter if we saw him in the village.
