It's NOT Martin !

For me MON disappointed me from the start although I was willing to stick with him into next season. First off he consistently played Ben Collins, FFS. Then he kept Carvalho on the bench. He would not play Yacob FFS and he persisted with Yates who in my opinion is not good enough for promotion from the Championship and I dare to say neither is Matty Cash although both good young players they are not what were not what we needed to get into the top six last season or a push next season. Have very fond memories of MON the player and wish him luck for the future although at 67 he should seriously think about getting out of the ratrace and retire and enjoy his wealth! I believe fame, public recognition and the limelight of the media is like a drug to many older prominent people.

I had resigned myself to the idea that this season would be one of consoldation. Probably rattle on through the season around midtable, troubling neither the relegation nor playoff spots. Get to May with MoN out of contract and a glut of deadwood leaving at the end of their contracts. And then a fresh slate for the new guy. But at least we'd have headed off the accusation that we're a club who sacks managers at an unreasonable rate, that this time we've ended with the same bloke who started. Thanks for your efforts, Martin. Well tried, here's your retirement bonus.
But this screams a different story. We're f***ing going for it again this year. I expect players coming in and drama and pressure and meltdowns. Buckle up, boys.

Not sure we are 'going for it' (I doubt we could even if we wanted to), but pressure and meltdowns are guaranteed.

We'll sign Mendes' lesser clients (most of whom will be dross), sack Lamouchi around October with us around the bottom of the league, appoint someone uninspiring who knows the league to steady the ship/get us out of the shit. Most of this summer's Mendes driven recruits will be considered deadwood at the end of the season and Carvalho and Lolley will be sold to raise funds for the next mug dumb enough to take the Forest job.

We had much better transfer windows under Fawaz than we have Marinakis, wasn’t he pulling the strings when Montanier was here with the random DOF?

Happy about it personally.

Can go back to Martin O'Neill, Forest legend.

Much like Stuart Pearce, I don't care about how well/poorly it happened as manager. Will always remain a legend and this managerial stint has zero impact on that.

But i'm glad he's gone.

To be fair to Marinakis, we've improved the squad during every window that he has had as owner so far.

I do think this window is going to be shit though as it looks like it's going to be Mendes driven.

Last season was a right mix bag, if we didn’t get lucky with lolley last season could of been a shit show.

I hope we still employ the bloke who decided buying Joe was a good idea

More than half a million pounds in settlement for the lay off, I read. Do we know what part of his salary that was?

It's interesting how moaning about footballers' wages rarely includes managers.

At least the players have to fulfil their contracts to get their money!

Pardew still being paid by Newcastle Utd.

I was thinking about this yesterday with the Moyes news, obviously in most cases they pay them off in one go when they leave but Pardew got like an 8 year contract didn't he? I wonder whether they paid him off or whether he's technically just on gardening leave and they're still paying him a wage, paying off the rest of his 8 year deal would've been a huge hit and if that is the case I wonder if they could demand he come in and take pre-season training
