It was 60 years ago today.......

....when, under no small amount of protest on his part, my 16-year-old eldest brother was charged with taking this excited, wide-eyed 8-year-old to his first league match at the City Ground.

Although he would still much rather have been enjoying the proceedings unfold elsewhere in the ground with his mates, the burden our Doug had been tasked with was eased a little by watching us hammer Burnley 7 - 0.

To say that both of us have witnessed a few ups-and-downs in the club's fortunes since that day is a slight understatement.

That's a long old stretch Otis. I have just had a noticed up reminding me I took my youngest a year ago today to her first match. I wonder what it will be like in 59 years time for her.

Bloody hell, 41 years for me (August 1976).

That's a stretch Charles Manson would be proud of.

That's some solid support Otis. I hope you'll have many years ahead and a little bit of success to enjoy, too.

I've followed the team for some years, too; my support for the club has been firm, but my visits to watch the team have been patchy simply because life has taken me in other directions at times.

Though I doubt a personal milestone such as this is quite deserving of them, thanks for the kind words and for generally indulging me in this thread.

My first game was a drab affair vs hudders 10 years ago back in league 1. Can't say it was inspiring, not sure what enticed me back.

Congrats Otis, that is some amount of time to be following Forest. 26 years since my first game.

Bloody hell, it goes so quickly.

Good line to put on a headstone, that.
