I think if we go down you have to accept Felipe, Johnson, Freuler and the loans/1 year punts are all gone, which leaves you with the remaining:
GK: XX, Horvath, Hennessey
RB: Williams, Biancone
RCB: Bolly, Worrall, Biancone
LCB: Niakhate, McKenna, Mbe Soh
LB: Richards, Toffolo
RCM: Yates, Kouyate, Fornah
LCM: Danilo, Mangala, LOB, Colback
RW: XX, Bowler
AM: MGW, Ojeda
LW: Scarpa, Dennis
ST: Awoniyi, Surridge, Wood
The four listed in red probably aren't going to want to be so far down the pecking order so will need conversations with their agents about being moved on.
Which means we'll end up needing (with my choices in brackets)
- 1x GK (Lee Nicholls on a free from Huddersfield probably the pick of the bunch)
- 1x RW (Djed Spence, converted to a pacey winger, <£10m).
- 1x LW (Emile Smith-Rowe on a loan with option/obligation to buy if promoted)
- 1x ST (Keinan Davis would be my choice, hopefully get him for <£10m).
Probably means a net transfer income of £30m odd (c.£50m in, £20m out) and sees us start with:

Too many CBs, Cook should be moved. Laryea should be brought back and given another chance. Hopefully one or two (or three) of the younger players can step in to the first team and do something. I think you are highly optimistic about Brennan and MGW wanting to stay. If we go down Brennan is gone, imho. Far too much interest in him from European competition sides. Not sure about MGW---I've yet to hear of any side interested in him, but he does seem to have a certain hype factor and that might spark a move. Not sure Freuler would relish the Champo. Felipe, at his age, may stay, or he could go back home. I think a priority would be another Danilo-esque type of mid. If we stay up, all bets are off lol.
