If QPR get relegated....

Imagine if the billionaires of Chelsea and City and the multi millionaires of Blackburn hadn't bought the premier league titles they have. The premier league winners would read:

Man Utd
Man Utd
Man Utd
Man Utd
Arsenal
Man Utd
Man utd
Man Utd
Man utd
Man Utd
Arsenal
Man Utd
Man Utd
Man Utd
Man Utd
Man Utd
Man Utd
Man Utd

Yes, but we'd have been second on goal difference that one season, and had a Champion's League run the season after, and Collymore might have stayed. I feel dizzy.

They think this is a good idea because quite simply it entrenches the established clubs at the top of the pile and bollocks to everyone else.

Can't have "unfashionable" clubs crashing the "best league in the world", can we?

That would never do with their target demographic.

In order for it to be fair and just to the competitive side of things the best thing to do would be a salary and transfer fee cap IMO. Something clubs can afford realistically amongst all that ensures that you're recruitment drive is more about merit and first team football rather than the biggest pay packet. Leagues 1 and 2 have this structure in place I believe as their version of FFP.

QPR and the FL battle is just going to be a case of who buckles first. There's talk they won't be allowed in the league if they don't pay up. QPR won't want that one bit but neither will the FL, I imagine it's just a waiting game of seeing who caves in first.

Actually when I was a young lad we had a salary cap called the maximum wage. Which is why teams like Notts County could buy a player like Tommy Lawton. However, this still did not stop teams like Man Utd and Everton (called Moneybags Everton or something similar) and the other "big" clubs consistently winning the cup and the league. In fact, Burnley won in about 1960 because Bob Lord put so much into the club.

I thought Burnley were so successful because they had a great youth policy and sold their best players to Man Utd etc and reinvested the money?

If QPR win, then FFP will collapse.

And Fawaz will get his wallet out again.

Hopefully yeah, I was also reading how the FA pretty much couldn't give a shit about Oyston taking all Blackpool FC's money out of club stating "clubs are their own individual business and can chose to operate as they wish." It's a shame the same thing doesn't apply to us and Fawaz being allowed to spend his own money on his own club how he wishes! FFP doesn't stop clubs going under and doesn't make football a level playing field for all clubs either. I really hope it gets scrapped sooner rather than later.

ok, thhis may be a bit thick but I can be sometimes.

What is the point in fining a club 60 odd million in debt 50 million quid? Hardly going to make matters better is it. Oh you are f**ked we will double your problem. It looks like a payday loan scenario. I do not wish to see any club go under because they tried to win some success not even Derby if it was them. As I said, I know nothing about finance but this kind of stinks.
